Miss Brazil 2009 ( pt, Miss Brasil 2009) was the 55th edition of the Miss Brazil pageant. It was held on 9 May 2009 at the Latin American Memorial Complex in São Paulo, São Paulo State, Brazil and was hosted by Nayla Micherif and Renata Fan. Natálya Anderle of Rio Grande do Sul crowned her successor Larissa Costa of Rio Grande do Norte at the end of the event. Costa represented Brazil at the Miss Universe 2009 pageant. 1st Runner-Up, Rayanne Morais of Minas Gerais represented the country at Miss International 2009. Larissa Costa Silva de Oliveira (born March 9, 1984), commonly known as Larissa Costa, is a Brazilian beauty queen who won the Miss Brasil 2009. Larissa Costa represented Brazil in the Miss Universe 2009. Biography Born in Natal, Rio Grande do Norte, she is graduated in pedagogy, and works in the Secretaria de Educação de Natal (Secretariat of Education of Natal). Pageants Larissa Costa won the Miss Rio Grande do Norte in 2009, representing the city of São Gonçalo do Amarante. She won the national pageant in 2009 representing Rio Grande do Norte state. She beat the 1st runner-up, Rayanne Morais, of Minas Gerais state and the 2nd runner-up, Denise Ribeiro, of the Distrito Federal. Miss International 2009
Miss International 2009, the 49th Miss International pageant, was held on November 28, 2009, at the Sichuan International Tennis Center in Chengdu, Sichuan, China. The pageant was originally scheduled to be held on November 7, 2009, at The Venetian Macao in Macau, but the host committee backed out. 65 contestants competed for the coveted title. Alejandra Andreu of Spain crowned Anagabriela Espinoza of Mexico as the new titleholder. Miss Universe 2009 was the 58th Miss Universe pageant, held at the Imperial Ballroom in Atlantis Paradise Island, Nassau, The Bahamas on August 23, 2009. At the end of the event, Dayana Mendoza of Venezuela crowned Stefanía Fernández of Venezuela as Miss Universe 2009. This marks the first and so far, the only time in Miss Universe history that a country has won for two consecutive years. The Latin America Memorial (in Portuguese, ''Memorial da América Latina'') is a cultural, political and leisure complex, inaugurated in 1989, in São Paulo, Brazil. The architectural setting, designed by Oscar Niemeyer, is a monument to the cultural, political, social and economic integration of Latin America, spanning an area of 84,482 square meters.
