Miss Universe Albania (''also known'' Miss Albania Organization) is a national Beauty pageant in Albania. The pageant was founded as Miss Albania in 2002, until rebranding as Miss Universe Albania in 2006. History The beauty pageants in Albania are run by two different organizers: Vera Grabocka organized the Miss Albania competition in 1991, while Petri Bozo and his Deliart Association organize the Miss Shqiperia election. The finalists take part in the Miss Europe election, and since 2002 also for Miss World and Miss Universe. Albanian women from Kosovo can also take part in the Miss Albania competition: Venera Mustafa became Miss Kosovo and Miss Albania in 1999. In the same year, she took part in the Miss Europe election for Albania. Elbasan ( , ; sq-definite, Elbasani, ) is the fourth most populous city of Albania and seat of Elbasan County and Elbasan Municipality. Miss Universe 2016 was the 65th Miss Universe pageant, held at the SM Mall of Asia Arena, in Pasay, Metro Manila, Philippines on January 30, 2017. This was the second time that the pageant skipped a year, after Miss Universe 2014 was held in January 2015. The winner, Iris Mittenaere of France was crowned by Pia Wurtzbach of the Philippines. It was France's first win in sixty-three years, and its second overall win. Contestants from eighty-six countries and territories competed in the pageant. Fushë-Krujë
Fushë-Krujë is a city in Durrës County, Albania. At the 2015 local government reform it became a subdivision of the municipality Krujë. The population as of the 2023 census is 17,877. The city has gained wider fame due to President George W. Bush's visit on Sunday, 10 June 2007. A statue was erected in his honor in 2011. Fushë-Krujë has been designated as the future site of a cement factory to be operated by Antea Cement Sh.A., a subsidiary of Titan Cement of Greece. Miss Universe 2015 was the 64th Miss Universe pageant, held at The AXIS in Las Vegas, Nevada, United States on December 20, 2015. This was the first edition of the pageant to be held under the ownership of WME/ IMG, which purchased the Miss Universe Organization from Donald Trump on September 14, 2015.
