Misha Ge
Mikhail Tszyunovich Ge (born 17 May 1991) is an Uzbekistani former competitive figure skater. He is the 2017 Internationaux de France bronze medalist. In addition to this, he has won nine international medals and four Uzbekistan national titles. He has finished in the top-ten at six ISU Championships, including two World Championships (2015 and 2018), competed at the 2014 Winter Olympics and the 2018 Winter Olympics, finishing 17th in both competitions. Personal life Misha Ge was born in Moscow, Russian SFSR to skating coaches Larisa and Jun Ge. He is of Russian, Chinese, and Korean descent. From the age of about 10, he lived in Beijing, China, where his parents coached. Ge also resided in Hong Kong SAR, Mainland China and Taiwan (ROC). He moved to the United States in mid-2009 and returned to Beijing in 2013. He speaks Russian, Mandarin Chinese, and English. ISU Figure Skating Championships
The International Skating Union organizes six annual Championships for figure skating. It is at the discretion of each member country which skaters, pairs or synchronized skating teams are sent to which championship. No skater in men's single skating, women's single skating, pair skating and ice dancing can compete at all four competitions in one season, but some skaters have competed at all four over the course of their careers. Asian Figure Skating Trophy
The Asian Open Figure Skating Trophy (or ''Asian Trophy''; previously known as the Asian Figure Skating Championships) is an annual figure skating competition sanctioned by the Asian Skating Union. Skaters compete in the disciplines of men's and ladies' singles across three levels: senior, junior, and novice. Following an ASU meeting in Changchun, China during the 6th Asian Winter Games 2007, the ASU revised the name of the competition from the Asian Figure Skating Championships to the Asian Figure Skating Trophy, with the International Skating Union approving the change. Since 2013, the event has been titled the Asian Open Figure Skating Trophy and skaters from other continents have participated. In 2018 this event was part of the 2018–19 ISU Challenger Series. 2011–12 Figure Skating Season
The 2011–2012 figure skating season began on July 1, 2011, and ends on June 30, 2012. During this season, elite skaters competed on the ISU Championship level at the 2012 European, Four Continents, World Junior, and World Championships. They also competed in elite events such as the Grand Prix series and Junior Grand Prix series, culminating in the Grand Prix Final. Season notes On September 26, 2011, American Brandon Mroz landed a quad Lutz in the short program at the 2011 Colorado Springs Invitational. The U.S. Figure Skating-sanctioned competition was a small non-ISU event with three men's entries, making it unclear whether the accomplishment would be recognized by the International Skating Union. Lake Arrowhead, California
Lake Arrowhead is an unincorporated community and a census-designated place (CDP) in the San Bernardino Mountains of San Bernardino County, California, surrounded by the San Bernardino National Forest, and surrounding the eponymous Lake Arrowhead Reservoir. Lake Arrowhead is located 13 miles north east of the San Bernardino city limits. The population of the CDP was estimated at 12,424 in the 2010 census. It was formerly called "Little Bear Lake", until around 1920, when a group from Los Angeles, the Arrowhead Lake Company, bought the lake and the land surrounding it, and changed its name to Arrowhead Lake. 2011 Four Continents Figure Skating Championships
The 2011 Four Continents Figure Skating Championships was an international figure skating competition in the 2010–11 season. It was held at the Taipei Arena in Taipei, Taiwan on February 15–20. Medals were awarded in the disciplines of men's singles, ladies' singles, pair skating, and ice dancing. Qualification The competition was open to skaters from a non-European member nation of the International Skating Union who reached the age of 15 by July 1, 2010.
