Misha Engel
Misha Engel (born 1 October 2002) is a Dutch professional footballer who plays as a defender for Dutch club AZ Alkmaar. Career Engel made his league debut for Jong AZ in the Eerste Divisie on 23 August 2021 appearing as a substitute in a 1–0 victory against TOP Oss. He made his first start for Jong AZ against VVV Venlo in January 2022 after their team had endured four months without a win. Engel played at left back and along with Lewis Schouten and striker Mexx Meerdink was one of three young players making their first start. They won 2–0. After a succession of further appearances, in April 2022 Engel was granted a new professional contract with AZ, keeping him at the club until 2023. Mexx Meerdink (born 24 July 2003) is a Dutch footballer who plays as a forward for club AZ Alkmaar. Early life From Winterswijk, Meerdink was in the youth academy at de Graafschap from 2012 until 2021 when he signed up to Jong AZ. Career 2021: Jong AZ debut Meerdink made his league debut in the Eerste Divisie on 10 December 2021, appearing as a substitute in a 3–2 away defeat to ADO Den Haag. Meerdink made his first start on 21 January 2022 against VVV Venlo in a youthful team that won 2–0 and in doing so earning the club their first win in four months. Lewis Schouten (born 4 February 2004) is a Dutch professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for Dutch club AZ Alkmaar. Club career Schouten made his league debut in the Eerste Divisie for Jong AZ appearing as a substitute on 17 January 2022 against FC Dordrecht in a 2–0 defeat at the Stadion Krommedijk.
