''Misfits'' is a 1986 compilation album by the American punk rock band Misfits. Officially titled ''Misfits'', but also known as ''Collection'', ''Collection 1'', or ''Collection I'', the album features twenty songs by the band. The tracks include some of the group's early singles, as well as songs from their 1982 album '' Walk Among Us'', their 1983 album '' Earth A.D./Wolfs Blood'', and the 1985 compilation album '' Legacy of Brutality'', which was curated exclusively by vocalist Glenn Danzig after the band had dissolved in 1983. ''Collection I'' was first released on July 1, 1986 by Plan 9 and Caroline Records, and was followed by '' Collection II'' in 1995. Both ''Collection'' albums were included in the boxed set '' The Misfits'', which was released in 1996. The Misfits (album)
''The Misfits'' is a boxed set of material by the horror punk band the Misfits, released in 1996 by Caroline Records. Packaged in a coffin-shaped, velvet-lined box, the set includes four compact discs covering most of the band's recorded material from the years when Glenn Danzig was their singer and songwriter. It also includes a "Fiend Club" pin and a booklet containing photographs, song lyrics, a discography, and a history of the band written by their photographer and associate Eerie Von. The exterior cover of the booklet was illustrated by artist Dave McKean. The four CDs of the set include almost all of the material written and recorded by the Misfits between 1977 and 1983. Plan 9 Records
Plan 9 Records, originally known as Blank Records, was an independent record label that was founded in 1977 by Glenn Danzig of the horror punk band The Misfits. The label was discontinued in 1995. In 1977, Danzig founded Blank Records as a means to distribute music by his newly formed band, The Misfits. However, after only one release, The Misfits' first single " Cough/Cool" (1977), Mercury Records had wanted to use the same name for a sub-label. Danzig traded Mercury the rights to the name for studio time, which The Misfits used to record '' Static Age''. Needing a new name for the label, Danzig decided on Plan 9 Records, a reference to the Ed Wood science fiction film ''Plan 9 from Outer Space'' (1957). The label continued to release material by The Misfits, and later solo efforts by Glenn Danzig and his post-Misfits band Samhain. Robo (musician)
Julio Roberto Valverde Valencia (born 1955), better known by his stage name Robo, is a Colombian-American drummer. He came to prominence in the early 1980s with punk band Black Flag, and more recently has been a member of Misfits. Life and career Robo (at the time known by his birth name, Roberto Valverde), born in Cali, who came to the United States on a student visa in early 1975. He stayed after the visa expired. Robo began playing drums in 1976, while living in El Segundo, California and working in a plastics factory. In 1978, he joined Black Flag as the band's second drummer, replacing Brian Migdol. He toured and recorded with them through 1981, performing on the EPs '' Jealous Again'' and '' Six Pack'', and their first full-length album, '' Damaged''. Arthur Googy
Arthur Googy is an American musician known for being the drummer of horror punk band The Misfits from 1980 to 1982. Originally from Jackson Heights, New York, he attended Blessed Sacrament elementary school followed by a brisk visit to Newtown High.. Googy was the longest-running drummer of the band's original era, spanning the years 1980–1982, and was present during the "Master Sound Productions Sessions" that led to the ''Walk Among Us'' album. He would tour with the band in several infamous shows, many of which ended up on highly sought-after bootlegs. His contributions include the albums ''Walk Among Us'', ''Evilive'' and '' 3 Hits from Hell''. Joey Image
Joey Poole (March 5, 1957 – June 1, 2020), known professionally as Joey Image, was an American punk rock drummer. He joined the Misfits in November 1978. He was the drummer for both the "Horror Business" and "Night of the Living Dead" sessions of 1979. In December 1979, after the band's ill-fated tour of England with the Damned, he left the band. After the Misfits, he was the drummer for the Whorelords. His most recent bands were Human Buffet, Psycho Daisies, the Mary Tyler Whores, the Strap-Ons, the Bell Ringers, Evil Doers, the Hooples, Jersey Trash, the Hollywood 77's, and between 2000 and 2002 he was the drummer for the Undead. He also played for the Misfits on October 26, 2000, at Culture Room, Fort Lauderdale, Florida, one day after Dr. Chud had left the band along with Michale Graves. Bobby Steele
Bobby Steele (born Robert Charles Kaufhold; March 18, 1956) is an American punk rock musician. He is the current guitar player, singer, songwriter, and sole original member of the horror punk band The Undead. He has been a member of multiple other bands, most notably the second guitarist of Misfits (band), The Misfits. He married Diana Viar who joined The Undead in November 2014. Career Steele grew up in New Milford, New Jersey and lived there until 1978 when he moved into Manhattan, New York. The house he had lived in later became the base for Post Mortem records, a label he founded. Steele was the guitarist for Parrotox, Slash, and The Whorelords before joining The Misfits in 1978. Franché Coma
Franché Coma (born Frank Licata August 17, 1957), is an American musician. He is one of the original guitarists of the Misfits, and the first to record in studio with them. Coma joined The Misfits in the fall of 1977 as the band's first guitarist eight months after singer Glenn Danzig, bassist Jerry Only, and drummer Manny Martinez formed the band. All of his recordings were recorded on the famous ''Static Age'' sessions in February 1978 at Mercury Records CI recording studio in NYC. Paul Caiafa (born September 15, 1964), known professionally as Doyle Wolfgang von Frankenstein, is an American guitarist best known for his material with the horror punk band the Misfits and his own band eponymously named Doyle. Education Raised in Lodi, New Jersey, he started attending Lodi High School two years following his brother Jerry's graduation. He played on the school's football team for all four years and graduated in 1982. Gerald Caiafa Jr. (born April 21, 1959), better known by his stage name Jerry Only, is an American musician, best known as the bassist for the Misfits and later the vocalist as well.
