Mirlind Daku
Mirlind Daku (born 1 January 1998) is a professional footballer who plays as a forward for Russian Premier League club Rubin Kazan. At international level, he played for the Kosovo national team in 2020 and 2021, before switching his national allegiance to Albania in 2023. Born in Gjilan to a family from a village in Gjilan known as Përlepnica, his family live on the mountainous part of Përlepnica. His surname Daku could come from the region they are from Karadaku. Club career Llapi On 24 January 2017, Daku signed a five-year contract with Football Superleague of Kosovo club Llapi. On 18 February 2017, he made his debut with Llapi in the 2016–17 Kosovar Cup fifth round against Feronikeli after coming on as a 95th-minute substitute in place of Berat Hyseni and scoring his side's second goal during a 4–2 away win after penalties. Gjilan
Gjilan, or Gnjilane ( sr-cyr, Гњилане) is the eighth largest city in Kosovo and seat of Gjilan Municipality and Gjilan District. Name Ottoman chronicler Evliya Çelebi mentions ''Morava'' as a settlement of the Sanjak of Vučitrn. Prilepnica
Prilepnica ( sr-Cyrl, Прилепница) or Përlepnica ( sq, Përlepnicë), is a village in the Kosovo Pomoravlje region of eastern Kosovo. The village is situated by the old mountainous road leading up to Novo Brdo, some 7 km from Gjilan. Etymology The etymology of Prilepnica / Përlepnica may come from the same origin as the etymology of Prilep a town today in North Macedonia. As we can see, the place names are very similar, with the same word Prilep present in both. In the Albanian language also the word Përlep appears in both; the name Prilep means “stuck” ''on the rocks'' in Old Church Slavonic. This is in reference to an old fortress that was attached to the rocky hilltop. This can be in reference to Prilepac a Serbian medieval fortress near Novo Brdo which is by Përlepnica. Futboll Klub Partizani, or FK Partizani for short, is an Albanian professional football club based in Tirana, that competes in the Kategoria Superiore. Founded in 1946, the club was historically affiliated to the Albanian army. Partizani's current temporary home ground is Arena Kombëtare and the newly built stadium at Partizani Complex. The 2019 Albanian Supercup was the 26th edition of the Albanian Supercup, an annual Albanian football match. The Kategoria Superiore, officially known as Abissnet Superiore for sponsorship reasons, is a professional league for men's association football clubs. At the top of the Albanian football league system, it is the country's primary football competition. It is contested by 10 clubs, and operates on a system of promotion and relegation with the Kategoria e Parë. Seasons run from August to May, with teams playing 36 matches each (playing each team in the league four times, twice at home and twice away). The competition was founded in 1930 as the Albanian National Championship during the reign of King Zog, shortly after the creation of the Albanian Football Association. Penalty Shoot-out (association Football)
A penalty shoot-out (officially kicks from the penalty mark) is a tie-breaking method in association football to determine which team is awarded victory in a match that cannot end in a draw, when the score is tied after the normal time as well as extra time (if used) have expired. In a penalty shoot-out, each team takes turns shooting at goal from the penalty mark, with the goal defended only by the opposing team's goalkeeper. Each team has five shots which must be taken by different kickers; the team that makes more successful kicks is declared the victor. Shoot-outs finish as soon as one team has an insurmountable lead. If scores are level after five pairs of shots, the shootout progresses into additional " sudden-death" rounds.
