Mirca Sancin
Mirca Zupnek Sancin (3 March 1901 - 24 July 1970) was a Slovene composer and piano teacher. Sancin was born in Ljubljana to Ana Petric and Franc Zupnek. She married Ivan Karel Sancin and they had one son. She studied composition at the Graz Conservatory (today the University of Music and Performing Arts Graz). Her teachers included Ivan Brezovsek, H. Schmidt and Lucijan Marija Skerjanc. In addition to composing, Sancin taught pano in Celje, Ljubljana, and at the State Higher Teachers’ College in Trieste. Sancin’s music was published by the Ljubljana Music Society. The University of Music and Performing Arts Graz, also known as Kunstuniversität Graz (KUG) is an Austrian university. Its roots can be traced back to the music school of the '' Akademischer Musikverein'' founded in 1816, making it the oldest university of music in Austria. History In 1963 the Conservatoire of the Province of Styria was elevated to an Austrian state institution – the ''Academy of Music and Performing Arts in Graz''. Lucijan Marija Škerjanc
Lucijan Marija Škerjanc (December 17, 1900 – February 27, 1973) was a Slovene composer, music pedagogue, conductor, musician, and writer who was accomplished on and wrote for a number of musical instruments such as the piano, violin and clarinet. His style reflected late romanticism with qualities of expressionism and impressionism in his pieces, often with a hyperbolic artistic temperament, juxtaposing the dark against melodic phrases in his music. Škerjanc belongs among the most important older composers of modern Slovene music and is a key Slovenian music personality of the 20th century. He received the Prešeren Award for his work four times. Alojz Gradnik
Alojz Gradnik (August 3, 1882 – July 14, 1967) was a Slovenian poet and translation, translator. Life Gradnik was born in the village of Medana in the Gorizia Hills region, in what was then the Austro-Hungarian Empire and is today in the Municipality of Brda of Slovenia. His father was a Slovenes, Slovene from Trieste who came from a poor working-class background, but created considerable wealth by winemaking. His mother was an Friuli, ethnic Friulian from the County of Gorizia and Gradisca. His younger brother Jožef later served as mayor of the village. Gradnik attended the multilingual Gymnasium (school), State Gymnasium in Gorizia. He lived in a student home run by the Catholic Church. Among his friends from this period were Avgust Žigon, who later became a renowned literary scholar, the Slovene writer Ivan Pregelj and the Friulian prelate Luigi Fogar, who later served as bishop of Trieste. Josip Murn
Josip Murn (), also known under the pseudonym Aleksandrov (; 4 March 1879 – 18 June 1901) was a Slovene symbolist poet. Together with Ivan Cankar, Oton Župančič, and Dragotin Kette, he was regarded as one of the beginners of modernism in Slovene literature. After France Prešeren and Edvard Kocbek, Murn was probably the most influential Slovene poet of the last two centuries. Life Murn was born in a condominium in the very center of Ljubljana as an illegitimate son to a poor woman, Maria Murn, and baptized ''Josef''. His mother moved to Trieste soon after his birth, leaving him in foster care to some relatives from the suburbs of Ljubljana. Oton, officially the Municipality of Oton (; , , ), is a municipality in the province of Iloilo, Philippines. According to the 2020 census, it has a population of 98,509 people making it as the most populous town in the province and the entire Panay island.
