''Mirbelia aotoides'' is a species of flowering plant in the family Fabaceae and is endemic to Queensland. It is a softly-hairy shrub with narrowly linear leaves with their edges rolled under, and yellow flowers arranged singly or in small groups in leaf axils. It was first formally described in 1859 by Ferdinand von Mueller in ''Transactions of the Philosophical Institute of Victoria''. Expedition National Park
Expedition is a national park in Queensland, Australia, 490 km northwest of Brisbane. It is named for the Expedition Range of mountains. The park is part of the Brigalow Belt bioregion. This area is mostly dominated by dry eucalyptus forests. Robinson Gorge was the first section to be declared a national park in 1951. Wildlife 145 species of animals have been recorded in the park, 2 of which are on the list of endangered or rare species and 283 species of plants, of which 2 also belong to rare or endangered species. Ferdinand Von Mueller
Baron Sir Ferdinand Jacob Heinrich von Mueller, (german: Müller; 30 June 1825 – 10 October 1896) was a German-Australian physician, geographer, and most notably, a botanist. He was appointed government botanist for the then colony of Victoria (Australia) by Governor Charles La Trobe in 1853, and later director of the Royal Botanic Gardens, Melbourne. He also founded the National Herbarium of Victoria. He named many Australian plants. Early life Mueller was born at Rostock, in the Grand Duchy of Mecklenburg-Schwerin. After the early death of his parents, Frederick and Louisa, his grandparents gave him a good education in Tönning, Schleswig. The ''Nature Conservation Act 1992'' is an act of the Parliament of Queensland, Australia, that, together with subordinate legislation, provides for the legislative protection of Queensland's threatened biota. As originally published, it provided for biota to be declared ''presumed extinct'', ''endangered'', ''vulnerable'', ''rare'' or ''common''. In 2004 the act was amended to more closely align with the IUCN Red List categories: ''presumed extinct'' was changed to ''extinct in the wild'' and ''common'' was changed to ''least concern''. ''Near threatened'' was introduced as an eventual replacement for ''rare'', but the latter was to be phased out over time rather than immediately abandoned. Mirbelioids
The Mirbelioids are an informal subdivision of the plant family Fabaceae that includes the former tribes Bossiaeeae and Mirbelieae. They are consistently recovered as a monophyletic clade in molecular phylogenies. The Mirbelioids arose 48.4 ± 1.3 million years ago (in the early Eocene). Members of this clade are mostly ericoid ( sclerophyllous) shrubs with yellow and red ('egg and bacon') flowers found in Australia, Tasmania, and Papua-New Guinea. The name of this clade is informal and is not assumed to have any particular taxonomic rank like the names authorized by the ICBN or the ICPN. Members of this clade exhibit unusual embryology compared to other legumes, either enlarged antipodal cells in the embryo sac or the production of multiple embryo sacs.
