Minutomon
''Minutomon'' is a monotypic genus of freshwater crabs in the subfamily Potamiscinae, found in Shanwei, south China, and first described in 2014. The only species is ''Minutomon shanweiense''. It superficially resembles '' Sinopotamon''. ''Minutomon'' is a small, 1–1.4 cm wide crab, that inhabits fast-flowing mountain streams. It is inconspicuous, rarely leaving the large rocks under which it hides. Juveniles are possibly predated by fishes such as ''Rhinogobius zhoui'' and ''Rhinogobius duospilus''. It shares its habitat with crabs of the genus ''Nanhaipotamon ''Nanhaipotamon'' is a genus of freshwater crabs, in the subfamily Potamiscinae, found in southern China and Taiwan. Nanhaipotamon
''Nanhaipotamon'' is a genus of freshwater crabs, in the subfamily Potamiscinae, found in southern China and Taiwan. As of 2018, 18 species have been described. The genus is named after the South China Sea (; literally: 'South Sea'), for it occurs mostly in coastal areas. Description These crabs are relatively large, with a carapace breadth of up to . Depending on the species, the carapace may be vividly coloured, especially in males of '' N. hongkongense'' (orange to red),'''' '' N. aculatum'' (dark blue) and '' N. zhuhaiense'' (light blue). Chelipeds are usually unequal, more so in larger males, where one cheliped is relatively much larger than the other. This may be of use in territorial fights, as the crabs are very aggressive towards conspecifics.'''' Distribution and habitat Crabs of the genus ''Nanhaipotamon'' inhabit the banks of small to medium-sized hill streams, paddy fields and swamps. Although not particularly a lowland species, they usually do not occur above ...

Monotypic
In biology, a monotypic taxon is a taxonomic group (taxon) that contains only one immediately subordinate taxon. A monotypic species is one that does not include subspecies or smaller, infraspecific taxa. In the case of genera, the term "unispecific" or "monospecific" is sometimes preferred. In botanical nomenclature, a monotypic genus is a genus in the special case where a genus and a single species are simultaneously described. In contrast, an oligotypic taxon contains more than one but only a very few subordinate taxa. Examples Just as the term ''monotypic'' is used to describe a taxon including only one subdivision, the contained taxon can also be referred to as monotypic within the higher-level taxon, e.g. a genus monotypic within a family. Some examples of monotypic groups are: Plants * In the order Amborellales, there is only one family, Amborellaceae and there is only one genus, '' Amborella'', and in this genus there is only one species, namely ''Amborella trichopoda.' ...

Freshwater Crabs
Around 1,300 species of freshwater crabs are distributed throughout the tropics and subtropics, divided among eight families. They show direct development and maternal care of a small number of offspring, in contrast to marine crabs, which release thousands of planktonic larvae. This limits the dispersal abilities of freshwater crabs, so they tend to be endemic to small areas. As a result, a large proportion are threatened with extinction. Systematics More than 1,300 described species of freshwater crabs are known, out of a total of 6,700 species of crabs across all environments. The total number of species of freshwater crabs, including undescribed species, is thought to be up to 65% higher, potentially up to 2,155 species, although most of the additional species are currently unknown to science. They belong to eight families, each with a limited distribution, although various crabs from other families are also able to tolerate freshwater conditions ( euryhaline) or are secon ...

Rhinogobius Zhoui
''Rhinogobius zhoui'', known as Zhou's scarlet goby in the aquarium trade, is a species of freshwater goby from the subfamily Gobionellinae which was discovered in a stream on Lianhua Mountain in Haifeng County, Guangdong Province, China. This goby also native in the other part of Guangdong Province and Guangxi Province, for some similar described species, which are called Resemble Zhou's Rhinogobius (类周氏吻虾虎) and New Red Rhinogobius (新红吻虾虎) in China, are found in streams of those places. Because of the aquarium trade and development, the population from its type locality is endangered now, but the IUCN have not evaluated it, and it is not a protected animal of China. ''R. zhoui'' have become a popular aquarium fish in China, it is called as Zhou's Rhinogobius(周氏吻虾虎) or flame Rhinogobius(火焰吻虾虎) in China, this goby can breed in aquariums. Freshwater Crustaceans Of Asia
Fresh water or freshwater is any naturally occurring liquid or frozen water containing low concentrations of dissolved salts and other total dissolved solids. Although the term specifically excludes seawater and brackish water, it does include non- salty mineral-rich waters such as chalybeate springs. Fresh water may encompass frozen and meltwater in ice sheets, ice caps, glaciers, snowfields and icebergs, natural precipitations such as rainfall, snowfall, hail/ sleet and graupel, and surface runoffs that form inland bodies of water such as wetlands, ponds, lakes, rivers, streams, as well as groundwater contained in aquifers, subterranean rivers and lakes. Fresh water is the water resource that is of the most and immediate use to humans. Water is critical to the survival of all living organisms. Many organisms can thrive on salt water, but the great majority of higher plants and most insects, amphibians, reptiles, mammals and birds need fresh water to survive. Fr ...
