Minnesota Kicks
The Minnesota Kicks was a professional soccer team that played at Metropolitan Stadium in the Minneapolis suburb of Bloomington, Minnesota, from 1976 to 1981. The team was a member of the now defunct North American Soccer League (1968–84), North American Soccer League (NASL). Initially known as the Denver Dynamos, the team relocated and became the Minnesota Kicks in 1976. The Kicks quickly became one of the league's more popular teams, with an average attendance of 23,120 fans per game in 1976. The Kicks won their division four years in a row from 1976 to 1979. The Kicks drew over 23,000 fans in each season from 1976 to 1979, with attendance peaking at 32,775 in 1977. Randy Phillips (soccer)
Randy Phillips (born Dallas, Texas) is a retired U.S. soccer goalkeeper (football), goalkeeper who spent two seasons in the North American Soccer League (1968–84), North American Soccer League, one in the American Soccer League (1933–83), American Soccer League and two in the United Soccer League (1984–85), United Soccer League. He was also a two-time Division I First-Team All-American (soccer), first team All American goalkeeper at Southern Methodist University. Phillips grew up in Dallas, Texas and attended Southern Methodist University where he played on the men's soccer team from 1977 to 1980. David Stride
David Stride (14 March 1958 – 10 July 2016) was an English professional footballer who played as a defender in both England and the United States. Playing career Stride began his career with Chelsea in 1978. That year, he went on loan with the Memphis Rogues of the North American Soccer League. In 1980, Chelsea sold Stride's contract to the Rogues. In 1981, Memphis sent him to the Minnesota Kicks. In the fall of 1981, he signed with the Cleveland Force of the Major Indoor Soccer League. In 1982, he moved to the Jacksonville Tea Men. Following the 1982 NASL season, Stride returned to England to play for Millwall and Leyton Orient. In 1985, he returned to the United States to play for the Dallas Sidekicks of Major Indoor Soccer League. Tino Lettieri
Martino "Tino" Lettieri (born 27 September 1957) is a former NASL and MISL professional soccer goalkeeper, who represented Canada twice at the Summer Olympics: 1976 and 1984 and at the 1986 FIFA World Cup. Club career Lettieri began his pro career with the Montreal Castors in the National Soccer League in 1976. In 1977, he played with the Minnesota Kicks in the North American Soccer League and played there until 1981. He went on to play the Vancouver Whitecaps in 1982 and 1983 and the Minnesota Strikers in 1984. He was named NASL North American Player of the Year in 1983 and had the league's best Goals Against Average in both 1982 and 1983. Lettieri was a regular in the original MISL. Ace Ntsoelengoe
Patrick Pule "Ace" Ntsoelengoe OIS (26 February 1952 – 8 May 2006) was a South African soccer player who is widely considered as one of the greatest the country has ever produced. Early life Ntsoelengoe was born to Daniel Ndimande and Margaret Ntsoelengoe. Ntsoelengoe did not grow up with his parents, as they were not yet married when he was born. The Ntsoelengoe surname comes from his grandmother, who raised him until his parents got married. His surname remained unchanged after this. Ntsoelengoe was a close friend to Mbongeni Ngema. Phil Woosnam
Phillip Abraham Woosnam (22 December 1932 – 19 July 2013) was a Welsh association football inside-right and manager. A native of Caersws, Powys, Wales, Woosnam played for five clubs in England and one in the United States. He played international football for Wales. He was described as a "gifted inside-forward with a pronounced football intelligence".
