Marin Minkov
Patriarch Maxim (Maximus) () (born Marin Naydenov Minkov, October 29, 1914 – November 6, 2012) was the head of the Bulgarian Orthodox Church from 1971 until his death. He was born in Oreshak, the second of the two children of Nayden Minkov Rachev and Pena Bordzhukova, but very little is known about his parents' background. He was educated only in his native mountain village of Oreshak but from his late childhood, he became a novice monk in the Troyan Monastery and then studied Orthodox Theology at Sofia University, from which he graduated in 1935 with honours. In 1942 he graduated from the Saint Clement of Ohrid State University of Sofia. He took Holy Orders in 1941 and became secretary general of the Holy Synod in 1955 and titular bishop of ''Branit'' on December 30, 1956. Mark Minkov
Mark Anatolievich Minkov (; 25 November 1944 – 29 May 2012) was a Soviet and Russian music composer. His music is featured in a number of operas, ballets, stage performances, and films. He composed the scores for more than a hundred cinema and television films, including ''Investigation Held by ZnaToKi'' (1985), '' We Are from Jazz'' (1983) and '' Neznayka with Our Court'' (1983). Milena Minkova
Milena Minkova ( Bulgarian: Милена Минкова) is a Bulgarian scholar of the Latin language. She has lived, studied and taught in Switzerland, Germany and Italy. She is now a resident of the United States and teaches Latin and Classics at the University of Kentucky in Lexington. Since the last decade of the 20th century, she has been one of the leading figures in the revival of the use of Latin among Latin scholars and teachers. She earned two Ph.Ds in Classics and Latin, one from the University of Sofia (1992) and the Pontifical Salesian University in Rome (1995). Svetoslav Minkov
Svetoslav Konstantinov Minkov () (12 February 1902 – 22 November 1966) was a Bulgarian absurdist fiction writer. Biography Minkov was born in Radomir in 1902 in a military family. His older brother Asen died in the Second Balkan War, while his other brother Ivan, a member of the Bulgarian Communist Party, committed suicide in 1925 to evade arrest by the oppressive Tsarist authorities. Minkov received his primary education in Radomir, and graduated from a high school in Sofia. His sister Teodora introduced him to the Bulgarian literary circles of the 1920s. He published his first work - ''Newton's binomial'' in the "Bulgaran" magazine in 1920. He was later enrolled in a military college in Austria, where he studied the works of Goethe, Nietzsche, Edgar Allan Poe, Henrik Ibsen and the Russian classical authors.
