Minju Joson
''Minju Joson'' (also known as ''Minju Choson'', ) is a state-run North Korean government newspaper. It is published in Pyongyang. It was started in 1945. It is the principal newspaper of the Cabinet of North Korea and the Standing Committee of the Supreme People's Assembly. History ''Minju Joson'' was founded in 1945. It began as ''Pyongyang Ilbo'', the organ of the South Pyongan People's Committee. In October 1945, it changed its name to the current one, as it became the organ of the North Korean Provincial People's Committee, and took its current position in September 1948 when the Democratic People's Republic of Korea was officially established. It was intended as a North Korean equivalent of the Soviet newspaper ''Izvestiya''. In the Soviet Union, ''Izvestiya'' was more focused on economy than ''Pravda'', which was more propagandist in content. Strong And Prosperous Nation
"Strong and Prosperous Nation" () is a political slogan in North Korea which originally described the main policy objective of the country's second supreme leader, Kim Jong Il. Kim Jong Il argued that the military-first policy of ''Songun'' was necessary to turn North Korea into a "strong and prosperous nation". He further argued that such a monumentous goal could only be achieved by strengthening the country's commitment to the core principles of ''Juche'' (i.e. self-reliance) in the areas of ideology, politics, economics, and defence. After Kim Jong-il's death on 17 December 2011, his son and successor Kim Jong Un repurposed the slogan to introduce new concepts into North Korean ideological discourse. Kim Jong Un (born 8 January 1983 or 1984) is a North Korean politician and dictator who has served as supreme leader of North Korea since 2011 and general secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea (WPK) since 2012. Yonhap News Agency (; ) is a major news agency in South Korea. It is based in Seoul, South Korea. Yonhap provides news articles, pictures, and other information to newspapers, TV networks and other media in South Korea. Korean reunification is the hypothetical unification of North Korea and South Korea into a singular Korean sovereign state.
