The Ministry of National Security (; MINSEG) of Argentina is a Ministries of the Argentine Republic, ministry of the Government of Argentina#Executive Branch, national executive power that oversees public safety and security. It co-ordinates the country's national security policy and oversees the Argentine Federal Police, Federal Police, the Airport Security Police (Argentina), Airport Security Police, the Argentine Naval Prefecture, Naval Prefecture, the Argentine National Gendarmerie, National Gendarmerie, and the Argentine Federal Penitentiary Service, Penitentiary Service, as well as the newly created Federal Council for Interior Security. The Ministry of Justice (; MJ) of Argentina is a ministry of the national executive power tasked with enforcing of the law and administration of justice. The ministry was created in 1949, during the first presidency of Juan Domingo Perón, and has been consistently present in every presidential cabinet since then. Aníbal Domingo Fernández (born January 9, 1957) is an Argentine Justicialist Party politician, lawyer, and certified public accountant. Throughout his career, he has remained a close ally to the former Presidents Néstor Kirchner and Cristina Fernández de Kirchner. Alberto Ángel Fernández (; born 2 April 1959) is an Argentine politician, lawyer, and academic who served as President of Argentina from 2019 to 2023. An independent politician or non-affiliated politician is a politician not affiliated with any political party or Bureaucracy, bureaucratic association. There are numerous reasons why someone may stand for office as an independent. Sabina Andrea Frederic (born 13 October 1965) is an Argentine social anthropologist, university professor and politician. A specialist on military and security personnel, she was Argentina's Minister of Security from 2019 to 2021, in the cabinet of President Alberto Fernández. The Justicialist Party (, ; abbr. PJ) is a major political party in Argentina, and the largest branch within Peronism. Following the 2023 presidential election, it has been the largest party in the opposition against President Javier Milei. Founded by Juan Perón and his wife, First Lady Eva Perón, it was previously called the Peronist Party after its founder. Under Perón, the party followed a left-wing agenda based on his policies.
