The Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of the Republic of Croatia ( or MVEP) is the ministry in the Government of Croatia which is responsible for the country's foreign relations, its diplomatic missions and relations to international organisations, especially the European Union. Nikola Šubić Zrinski Square (, popularly referred to as Zrinjevac) is a square and park in Donji grad (Zagreb), Donji Grad, the central part of Zagreb, the capital of Croatia. It is located near the central Ban Jelačić Square, halfway towards the Zagreb Main Station, Main Railway Station. The Social Democratic Party of Croatia (, SDP) is a Social democracy, social democratic political party in Croatia. Tonino Picula (born 31 August 1961) is a Croatian politician currently serving his fourth term as a Member of the European Parliament for Croatia, having successfully run in 2013, 2014, 2019 and 2024 European elections. Zdenko Škrabalo (4 August 1929 – 12 January 2014) was a Croatian physician, academician and diplomat and former foreign minister of Croatia. After finishing high school in his home town of Sombor, Škrabalo enrolled at the University of Zagreb School of Medicine, and graduated in 1953, where he also received a doctorate with a thesis on disorders of endocrine glands. He attended several seminars around Germany, and he founded the first German laboratory for the cytopathology of endocrine glands. He also attended seminars at medical schools in London, Leuven, Boston and Toronto. In 1976 he became full professor at the Zagreb University School of Medicine. He was also a guest lecturer at universities in Dacca, Boston, Hamburg, Frankfurt and Valletta. Zvonimir Šeparović (14 September 1928 – 30 January 2022) was a Croatian jurist and politician. Biography Šeparović was a professor of Criminal Law at the University of Zagreb and rector of the university from 1989 to 1991. He was also known as the pioneer of victimology and a vocal opponent of death penalty. Although he lacked any formal party or political affiliation, in 1991, he became foreign minister in the "National Government" of Franjo Gregurić. In 1992, he became the Permanent Representative of Croatia to the United Nations. He remained active in public life and did at one point become both a member of the Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ) as well as a member of the party's Central Committee.
