The Ministry of Social Services and Development (MSSD) is the regional executive department of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) responsible for affairs relating to social services in the region. History When the ARMM was succeeded by the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) in 2019, the regional departments of the former Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao were reconfigured into ministries of Bangsamoro. The Department of Social Welfare and Development-Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (DSWD-ARMM) was reorganized as the Ministry of Social Services and Development. The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD; ) is the executive department of the Philippine government responsible for the protection of the social welfare of rights of Filipinos and to promote social development. History In 1915, the Public Welfare Board (PWB) was created and tasked with studying, coordinating and regulating all government and private entities engaged in social services. Ahod Balawag Ebrahim (; Jawi: احد بلاوݢ ابرهیم; born May 15, 1949), better known as Al Haj Murad Ebrahim, is a Moro Filipino politician and former rebel leader who served as the first chief minister of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao. The Bangsamoro Cabinet is part of the local government of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao of the Philippines. It is currently being led by Chief Minister Murad Ebrahim.
