The Ministry of Infrastructure ( Swedish: ''Infrastrukturdepartementet''), was a ministry within the Government of Sweden. It operated between 2019 and 2022. A new ministry under the name Ministry of Rural Affairs and Infrastructure was created on 1 January 2023. History The Ministry of Infrastructure was formed on 1 April 2019 and took over some responsibilities previously handled by the Ministry of Enterprise and Innovation, the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of the Environment. The ministry was succeeded by the Ministry of Rural Affairs and Infrastructure on 1 January 2023 as the responsibilities carried out by the Ministry of Infrastructure was merged with those carried out by the Minister for Rural Affairs, then sorted under the Ministry of Enterprise. The Swedish Transport Administration () is a government agency in Sweden, controlled by the Riksdag and the Government of Sweden. It is responsible for long-term infrastructure planning for transport: road, rail, shipping and aviation. It owns, constructs, operates and maintains all state-owned roads and railways and operates many car ferry services. The agency is a member of the Nordic Road Association. The Swedish Maritime Administration () is the government agency in Sweden which provides services to the transport sector by keeping the sea lanes open and safe. The agency is to a certain degree financed through fees levied on commercial shipping. The main services of the Maritime Administration include: pilotage, maintenance of marine fairways, ice-breaking, hydrographics, maritime search and rescue, seamen's service. It also maintains the lighthouses and other aids to navigation of Sweden. Until 1 January 2009, it also was responsible for maritime safety inspection. Svenska kraftnät is an electricity transmission system operator in Sweden. It is current led by director-general Per Eckemark since 2025. It is a state-owned public utility, which was created in 1992 by splitting the former government agency Vattenfall into a power generation and distribution company Vattenfall AB and a transmission company Svenska kraftnät. The company has its headquarters in Sundbyberg, near Stockholm in Sweden. Svenska kraftnät owns and manages 17500 km of power lines, 175 transformer - and switching stations as well as foreign connections with both alternating and direct current. The Swedish Civil Aviation Administration () is a Swedish government agency which regulated and oversaw all aspects of aviation in Sweden until 2005. The regulatory division was called (Civil Aviation Authority). The Air Navigation Service Provider (ANSP) () was established as (LFV). The agency had its head office in Norrköping. In 2005 the regulatory division was separated to a new agency named ''Luftfartsstyrelsen'', from 2009 part of the Swedish Transport Agency.
