Ministry Of Infrastructure (Rwanda)
The Ministry of Infrastructure (MININFRA; ; ) is a Ministry (government department), department of the Government of Rwanda. The Ministry is responsible for infrastructure policy and development throughout the country. Claver Gatete is the current Minister of Infrastructure. History The ministry was founded after Rwandan independence in 1962 as the ''Ministry for Technical Businesses''. Three years later it was renamed to the ''Ministry of Public services''. Following the military coup which brought President Juvenal Habyarimana to power, the ministry was renamed again to the ''Ministry of Public Services and Energy''. It retained this name until 1980, when it was expanded to include a water remit. The Ministry of Public Services was retained after the 1994 Rwandan genocide, reverting first to its former title of Ministry of Public Services and Energy, from 1994 then back to its 1960s title of Ministry of Public Services (MINITRAP) in 1997 and to the new name of ''Ministry of Pub ... Nyabarongo Bridge Photo
The Nyabarongo (or Nyawarungu) is a major river in Rwanda, part of the upper headwaters of the Nile. With a total length of , it is the longest river entirely in Rwanda. It is extended in Lake Rweru including a upper course of Kagera River before joining into Ruvuvu River to form the Kagera River. The river begins its course at the confluence of the rivers Mbirurume and Mwogo in the South West of the country. These two rivers themselves begin in Nyungwe Forest, and are considered by some to be the most distant source of the Nile. From its start, Nyabarongo flows northward for 85 km (53 miles), and forms the border between the Western and Southern Provinces. At the confluence with the river Mukungwa, the river changes course and flows eastward for 12 km (7.5 miles), then to a more South Eastern course for the last 200 km (124 miles). Jean De Dieu Uwihanganye
Jean De Dieu Uwihanganye (born 8 January 1987), is a Rwandan Engineer and Politician. Jean De Dieu has been serving as the high commissioner of Rwanda to Singapore, Australia, New Zealand Since July 2019 and ambassador to Indonesia from May 2023. He resides in Singapore. From August 2017 to July 2019, he was Minister of State for transport in Rwanda Ministry of Infrastructure in the Cabinet of Rwanda. Prior to his Cabinet appointment, Jean De Dieu served as director of business planning and development at NPD Ltd, a construction company in Rwanda since January 2016 until July 2017. ''The New Times'' is a national English-language newspaper in Rwanda. It was established in 1995 shortly after the genocide against the Tutsi. A Kinyarwanda-language weekly called ''Izuba Rirashe'' was previously published.
