The Council of Ministers of the Republic of Poland (Polish: ''Rada Ministrów Rzeczypospolitej Polskiej'') is the collective executive decision-making body of the Polish government. The cabinet consists of the Prime minister, also known as the Chairman of the Council of Ministers, the Deputy Prime Minister, who acts as a vice-chairman of the council, and other ministers. The current competences and procedures of the cabinet are described between Articles 146 to 162 of the constitution. Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Poland ( pl, Ministerstwo Gospodarki) was a ministry dealing with economy of Republic of Poland. Created in 1997 from reforms and mergers of other ministries, it has gone through several name changes and has recently been downsized, with issues related to work being split to Ministry of Labour and Social Policy and regional issues split to Ministry of Regional Development. Jerzy Krzysztof Hausner (born 6 October 1949, in Świnoujście) is a Polish politician and economist. He is a Member of the 4th Sejm (Parliament) of the Republic of Poland. Life Jerzy Hausner has graduated from Kraków University of Economics. From 1994 to 1996 he served as Director-General of the Prime Minister's Office. In that capacity, he was in charge of a group of advisers to Grzegorz Kolodko - then the Deputy Prime Minister responsible for the economy. The Democratic Left Alliance () was a social-democratic political party in Poland. It was formed on 9 July 1991 as an electoral alliance of centre-left parties, and became a single party on 15 April 1999. Jacek Jan Piechota (pronounced ; born 28 April 1959 in Szczecin) is a Polish left-wing politician. He was the Minister of Economy from 2001 to 2003, under Prime Minister Leszek Miller, and again in 2005 under Prime Minister Marek Belka. Piechota was elected to the Sejm on 25 September 2005, receiving 17257 votes in 41 Szczecin district as a candidate on the Democratic Left Alliance list. He was also a member of the Polish United Workers' Party from 1978 to 1990.
