Mini John Cooper Works S2000
The Mini John Cooper Works WRC is a World Rally Car debuted by the Mini WRC Team during the 2011 World Rally Championship season. It is the first rally car to bear the Mini label in top-level rallying since the 1960s. The car was entered in a limited campaign for 2011, with a view to a complete championship from 2012 and was run by Prodrive, who previously had success with the Subaru Impreza WRC. The WRC is based on the Mini Countryman and features a direct-injection 1.6 L turbocharged inline four-cylinder engine. The WRC's engine was developed by BMW Motorsport for use in a variety of motorsport series, including the FIA World Touring Car Championship. Pierre Campana
Pierre Campana (born 1 May 1985 in Bastia) is a French rally driver from Corsica. Career Campana began rallying in 2004, and made his World Rally Championship debut in 2007 on his home event, the Tour de Corse. Driving a Citroën C2 R2, he retired with a mechanical issue. He returned one year later in a Renault Clio R3, as a wildcard entry in the Junior World Rally Championship class. He finished the rally 21st overall and third in JWRC. In 2010 Campana contested three rounds of the Intercontinental Rally Challenge in his Renault Clio R3. On the Monte Carlo Rally he was 12th overall and second in 2WD. He repeated that same feat on the Ypres Rally. He retired from Czech Rally Zlín after losing a wheel. Campana returned to Monte Carlo in 2011 and this time won the 2WD category, finishing 14th overall. He then entered his home event the Tour de Corse in a Peugeot 207 S2000, finishing fourth overall. 2011 World Rally Championship Season
The 2011 World Rally Championship was the 39th season of the FIA World Rally Championship in automobile racing. The season consisted of 13 rallies, beginning with Rally Sweden on 10 February and ended with Wales Rally GB on 13 November. The 2011 Rally Italia Sardegna was the fifth round of the 2011 World Rally Championship season. The rally took place over 6–8 May, and was based in Olbia, the fourth-largest town on the island of Sardinia. A sequential manual transmission, also known as a sequential gearbox, or a sequential transmission, is a type of non-synchronous manual transmission used mostly for motorcycles and racing cars. It produces faster shift times than traditional synchronized manual transmissions, and restricts the driver to selecting either the next or previous gear, in a successive order. MacPherson Strut
The MacPherson strut is a type of automotive suspension system that uses the top of a telescopic damper as the upper steering pivot.
