Minalin Church
Santa Monica Parish Church, commonly known as Minalin Church, is a Baroque Roman Catholic church, located in ''poblacion'' area of San Nicolas in Minalin, Pampanga, Philippines. The church, built during the Spanish era, was declared a National Cultural Treasure by the National Commission for Culture and the Arts and the National Museum of the Philippines on August 27, 2011, one of 37 churches in the country bestowed that honor. The parish church is part of the ecclesiastical province of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of San Fernando, under the Vicariate of Christ The King. The church is under the patronage of Saint Monica of Hippo, with a feast day celebrated annually every second Sunday of May. The current parish priest is Rev. Fr. Lyndon Valenton succeeding Rev. Fr. Declarations of National Cultural Treasures (NCTs; ''Mga Pambansang Yamang Pangkalinangan'' in Filipino language, Filipino) are regulated by the National Cultural Heritage Act. Designations are undertaken by the National Commission for Culture and the Arts and related agencies such as the National Museum of the Philippines, National Museum, the National Library of the Philippines, National Library, and the National Archives of the Philippines, National Archives. Nominations for an item to be designated with an NCT title may be submitted by any Filipino institution or person. Classification RA 10066 outlines the processes in selection, declaration, preservation, promotion and delisting of cultural property as National Cultural Treasure (NCT).
