Min Maw Kun
Min Maw Kun (, born Kyaw Kyaw Htay Lwin, 26 February 1979) is a former Burmese actor, singer, and revolutionary. He received the Myanmar Academy Awards for Best Actor in 2001 for his performance in '' Good Hearted-Stupid Person''. Throughout his career, he has acted in more than 150 films. In the aftermath of the 2021 Myanmar coup d'état, he retired from his acting career and became a vocal critic of Myanmar's ruling military junta. His active involvement in anti-coup protests resulted in an arrest warrant being issued against him, leading him to flee to the jungle. There, he joined the People's Defence Force and became a revolutionary. Early life Min Maw Kun was born on 26 February 1979 in Yangon to Zin Wine and Khin Nwe Nwe Tun. The Karen National Union (; abbreviated KNU) is a political organisation with an armed wing, the Karen National Liberation Army (KNLA), that claims to represent the Karen people of Myanmar. Democratic Karen Buddhist Army
The Democratic Karen Buddhist Army (DKBA; ) was an insurgent group of Buddhist soldiers and officers in Myanmar that split from the predominantly Christian-led Karen National Liberation Army (KNLA), one of the largest rebel factions in Myanmar. Shortly after splitting from the KNLA in December 1994, the DKBA signed a ceasefire agreement with the government of Myanmar in exchange for military and financial assistance; provided that it supported government offensives against the KNU (the political wing of the KNLA) and its allies.
