Bobby Mimms
Robert Andrew Mimms (born 12 October 1963) is an English football coach and former player who played as a goalkeeper. Mimms' career lasted twenty years, and is best known for his tenure with Blackburn Rovers, where he was a member of the Premier League winning squad in 1995. He also played top flight football for Everton, Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester City as well as a spell in the Scottish Premier League with Aberdeen. Mimms also turned out in the Football League for Halifax Town, Rotherham United, Notts County, Sunderland, Crystal Palace, Preston North End, York City and Mansfield Town. He was capped three times at England U21 level. Since retiring from playing, Mimms has worked as a goalkeeping coach for Wolverhampton Wanderers, Blackburn Rovers, Oldham Athletic, Bahrain, West Ham United, Blackpool, Bolton Wanderers, Hull City, Jamshedpur, ATK, Bangladesh and SC East Bengal. Garnet Mimms
Garnet Mimms (born Garrett Mimms, November 16, 1933) is an American singer, influential in soul music and rhythm and blues. He first achieved success as the lead singer of Garnet Mimms & The Enchanters, and is best known for the 1963 hit " Cry Baby", later recorded by Janis Joplin. According to Steve Huey at AllMusic, his "pleading, gospel-derived intensity made him one of the earliest true soul singers ndhis legacy remains criminally underappreciated." Biography Born in Ashland, West Virginia, United States, Mimms grew up in Philadelphia, where he sang in church choirs and in gospel groups such as the Evening Stars and the Harmonizing Four. Zerelda Mimms
Zerelda Amanda Mimms James (July 21, 1845 – November 13, 1900) was the wife and first cousin of Jesse James. Personal life Zerelda Amanda Mimms was the daughter of Pastor John Wilson Mimms and Mary Elizabeth James. Her mother was sister to Jesse James' father, Robert S. James. She and Jesse James married on April 24, 1874, while the James-Younger Gang was still in full force. Of the Jameses and Youngers, Jesse was the first to marry. Zerelda and Jesse had four children, two of whom died in infancy: * Jesse Edward "Tim" James (August 31, 1875 – March 26, 1951) * Twins Gould and Montgomery James (born February 28, 1878 and died in infancy) * Mary Susan James (July 17, 1879–October 11, 1935) Death Mimms died November 13, 1900 in Kansas City, Missouri and was buried at Mount Olivet Cemetery in Kearney, Missouri. South Mimms
South Mimms is a village and civil parish in the Hertsmere district of Hertfordshire in the East of England. It is a small settlement located near to the junction of the M25 motorway with the A1(M) motorway and is perhaps more widely known because of the naming of the service station at that junction. History South Mimms parish was the northernmost part of the county of Middlesex. The name is thought to derive from the name of a tribe who once inhabited the area. Potters Bar was originally a small settlement in the parish. Potters Bar became the location of the nearest railway station and eventually became much larger. The parish was split in 1894 under the Local Government Act 1894 with the extreme southern tip forming South Mimms Urban parish in the Barnet Urban District and was transferred to Hertfordshire. This area now forms part of the London Borough of Barnet. The rest of the parish became the South Mimms Rural District, later renamed the Potters Bar Urban District. ... North Mymms is a civil parish in the English county of Hertfordshire. At the 2011 Census the civil parish had a population of 8,921. The village itself is an enclosure. North Mymms Park and Brookmans Park enclose large areas of the parish. Even the parish church (St Mary's) stands in the park of North Mymms; in it is a chapel, the burialplace of the Coningsbys. There is a monument to Robert Knolles, also of North Mymms Place, dated 1458, and a brass to a priest. There is a large monument to Lord Somers, Baron Evesham, and lord chancellor in the time of William III, d. 1716. The monument was erected by his sister, Lady Elizabeth Jekyll. The civil parish includes: *North Mymms Place: The Elizabethan house of 1576 belonged to the Coningsby family. John Conningsby died in 1544 and entailed the house to his wife, Elizabeth, during her lifetime. Elizabeth remarried to William Dodds.
