Milwaukee Mustangs (1994–2001)
The Milwaukee Mustangs were a professional arena football team based in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The team was a member of the Arena Football League, playing from 1994 to 2001. The owner of the Mustangs was Andrew Vallozzi. The Mustangs played their home games at the Bradley Center in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. History Expansion The team was founded in August 1993, when Andrew Vallozzi was approved by the league for expansion. The city of Milwaukee became football hungry, after renovations to Lambeau Field led to speculation that the Green Bay Packers would soon stop playing games in Milwaukee, something they'd been doing since 1933. Later that year, the Packers would confirm the rumors and announced that their December 1994 contest at Milwaukee County Stadium would be their last. For many in the Milwaukee area, the Mustangs helped fill the void left by the Packers. Richard Young (wrestler)
Richard Young (born May 12, 1975) is an American former professional wrestler and football player. He is best known for his work with WWE performing under the ring name Ricky Ortiz. Young spent time in the XFL, Canadian Football League (CFL), and Arena Football League (AFL). Football career College Young spent two years at Glendale Community College in Glendale, Arizona. Leslie Barley (born September 7, 1967) is a former Arena Football League fullback and linebacker. In a career lasting ten years, he played for the Charlotte Rage, the Connecticut Coyotes, the Tampa Bay Storm, the Grand Rapids Rampage and the Milwaukee Mustangs. Sean Riley (born August 17, 1974) is an American former professional football offensive specialist who played six seasons in the Arena Football League (AFL) with the Milwaukee Mustangs, Grand Rapids Rampage, Las Vegas Gladiators and Orlando Predators. Gary Compton (born May 9, 1968) is an American former professional football wide receiver and linebacker in the Arena Football League and briefly in the National Football League and World League of American Football. Compton played college football at East Texas State (now Texas A&M-Commerce) from 1987-1990 where he was an All-Conference and All-American Wide Receiver as well as a Harlon Hill Award candidate. Kahlil Rafiq Carter, (born September 13, 1976) is an American former professional gridiron football player and coach. Carter has been a professional gridiron football player in the Arena Football League (AFL), NFL Europe, and the Canadian Football League (CFL). Kevin T. McDougal (born May 29, 1972) is best known as the starting quarterback for the University of Notre Dame football team who narrowly missed winning the national championship in 1993.
