Miloš Pech
Miloš Pech (born 22 August 1927) is a Czechoslovak sprint canoeist who competed from the late 1940s to the mid-1950s. He won two medals at the ICF Canoe Sprint World Championships with a silver (K-1 10000 m: 1954) and a bronze (K-4 1000 m: 1948). A canoe is a lightweight narrow water vessel, typically pointed at both ends and open on top, propelled by one or more seated or kneeling paddlers facing the direction of travel and using a single-bladed paddle. 1954 ICF Canoe Sprint World Championships
The 1954 ICF Canoe Sprint World Championships were held in Mâcon, France. This event was held under the auspices of the International Canoe Federation. The men's competition consisted of four Canadian (single paddle, open boat) and nine kayak events. Two events were held for the women, both in kayak. The type or number of events held at the championships remained unchanged from the previous championships. This was the fourth championships in canoe sprint. 1948 ICF Canoe Sprint World Championships
The 1948 ICF Canoe Sprint World Championships were held in London, Great Britain. This event was held under the auspices of the International Canoe Federation, formed in 1946 from the Internationale Repräsentantenschaft Kanusport (IRK). The men's competition consisted of four kayak events. One kayak event was held for the women. The women's distance was reduced from 600 m to 500 m at these championships. These events were extraordinary since they were not included in the 1948 Summer Olympics, also held in London. This was the second championships in flatwater racing and the first one after World War II ended. ICF Canoe Sprint World Championships
The ICF Canoe Sprint World Championships are an international event in canoe racing, one of two Summer Olympic sport events organized by the International Canoe Federation (the other being the ICF Canoe Slalom World Championships). The World Championships have taken place every non-Olympic year since 1970 and officially included paracanoe events since 2010; since 2012, paracanoe-specific editions of this event (named ICF Paracanoe World Championships) have been held in Summer Paralympic years. Prior to November 2008, canoe sprint was known as flatwater racing.
