Miloš Mikeln
Miloš Mikeln (23 May 1930 – 1 April 2014) was a Slovene writer, playwright, theatre director and journalist. He served as the president of Slovene PEN and was the initiator of the ''Writers for Peace Committee'', founded in 1984. He was the Committee chairman for the first decade of its existence. The Committee still continue to operate within the fold of PEN International to this day, providing a platform for literary and intercultural dialogue and understanding. Life Mikeln was born Alojz Martin Mikeln in Celje in 1930. He attended school in Celje until 1947 when he moved to Ljubljana where he first studied comparative literature at the University of Ljubljana and in 1952 enrolled at the Academy for Theatre, Radio, Film and Television.Throughout his career he worked in theatres in Kranj and Ljubljana, as an editor at the newspapers ''Delo'' and ''Naši razgledi'' and as Director of the ''Cankarjeva založba'' publishing house. Celje (, , ) is the List of cities and towns in Slovenia, third-largest city in Slovenia. ''Delo'' () is a national daily newspaper in Slovenia. It covers politics, economics, sports, culture and social events in Slovene. Kresnik Award
Kresnik is a literary award in Slovenia awarded each year for the best novel in Slovene language, Slovene of the previous year. It has been bestowed since 1991 at summer solstice by the national newspaper house Delo (newspaper), Delo. The awards ceremony is normally held on Rožnik (hill), Rožnik Hill above Ljubljana where the winner is invited to light a large bonfire. The winner also receives a financial award. Kranj
Kranj (, ) is the List of cities and towns in Slovenia, fourth-largest city in Slovenia and the largest urban center of the traditional region of Upper Carniola (northwestern Slovenia) and the Slovene Alps. Academy For Theatre, Radio, Film And Television
The Academy of Theatre, Radio, Film and Television ( or AGRFT) is an academy of the University of Ljubljana in Ljubljana, Slovenia. It is the only college and graduate school in Slovenia with a similar curriculum. It is composed of three colleges: the College for Theatre and Radio, the College for Film and Television, and College for Screen and Play Writing. In addition, a Center for Theatre and Film Studies is included in the academy. The current dean is Aleš Valič. History The academy was founded in 1945.
