Milli Vanilli (film)
''Milli Vanilli'' is a 2023 American documentary film about the German-French pop music duo Milli Vanilli, consisting of Rob Pilatus and Fab Morvan. The film chronicles the circumstances surrounding the duo's meteoric rise to fame and devastating fall. It features rare archival footage, exclusive interviews with Pilatus and Morvan, and interviews with the real singers and record executives. Luke Korem (born November 1, 1982) is an American filmmaker whose credits include directing and producing the critically acclaimed music documentary ''Milli Vanilli'', the Showtime series ''Action'', and the SXSW award-winning documentary '' Dealt''. He produces under his production company banner, Keep On Running Pictures, based in Austin, Texas. Frank Farian
Franz Reuther (18 July 1941 – 23 January 2024), known professionally as Frank Farian, was a German record producer and singer who founded the 1970s disco-pop group Boney M., the pop band No Mercy, and the pop band Milli Vanilli. He frequently created vocal groups in which the publicised members merely lip-synced to songs sung by session performers. Farian owned the record label MCI and several subsidiaries. Early life Farian was born in Kirn, Germany, on 18 July 1941. He and two siblings were raised by his mother, because his father was killed in World War II before his birth. Rob & Fab
Rob & Fab was a dance-pop music duo formed and fronted by Rob Pilatus and Fab Morvan in 1990, following their departure from the commercially successful but ill-fated group Milli Vanilli. Career In the wake of the Milli Vanilli lip-synching scandal, Pilatus and Morvan went to the studio and recorded a song, "Don't Give Up the Fight", to prove that they could sing. Even though they performed it on multiple TV shows, they never officially released it. Both Pilatus and Morvan then moved to Los Angeles and acquired a new manager, Sandy Gallin. They signed with The Joss Entertainment Group, with whom they recorded new songs featuring their own vocals. Their first and only album, ''Rob & Fab'', was financed by Joss subsidiary Taj Records in 1992 and released under the Joss Entertainment label in 1993. The Real Milli Vanilli
''The Moment of Truth'' is the only studio album by the pop group the Real Milli Vanilli, released in 1991. History ''The Moment of Truth'' was meant to be the follow-up to Milli Vanilli's first album, '' All or Nothing'' (repackaged as '' Girl You Know It's True'' in the United States). After it was revealed that Rob Pilatus and Fab Morvan had not performed the vocals with which they were credited in the band, producer Frank Farian formed the group the Real Milli Vanilli, with the actual singers on the recordings, as well as new vocalists Gina Mohammed and Ray Horton.
