Milers Cup
The Yomiuri Milers Cup (Japanese マイラーズカップ) is a Grade 2 flat horse race in Japan for Thoroughbreds of at least four years of age. It was run over a distance of 1600 metres at Hanshin Racecourse until 2011 in April but is now run at Kyoto Racecourse over the same distance. The race serves as a major trial for the Yasuda Kinen. The Milers Cup was first run in 1970 and was elevated to Grade 2 status in 1984. Among the winners of the race have been Daiwa Major, Company, Grand Prix Boss and Isla Bonita. Race details The race is run at Kyoto Racecourse over a distance of 1,800 meters on dirt, using the outer curve. Soul Rush (horse)
is a Japanese Thoroughbred racehorse best known for his victories in the 2024 Mile Championship and the 2025 Dubai Turf. He won the JRA Award for Best Sprinter or Miler in 2024. Racing career 2020: two-year-old season Soul Rush debuted on December 13, 2020, in a 2-year-old maiden race at Chukyo Racecourse (2000m, turf). Racing mid-pack early, he surged ahead in the final stretch to win by two lengths. 2021: three-year-old season In his second career start, the Asunaro Sho, he finished sixth. Graded Stakes Race
A graded stakes race is a thoroughbred horse race in the United States that meets the criteria of the American Graded Stakes Committee of the Thoroughbred Owners and Breeders Association (TOBA). A specific grade level (I, II, III or listed) is then assigned to the race, based on statistical analysis of the quality of the field in previous years, provided the race meets the minimum purse criteria for the grade in question. In Canada, a similar grading system is maintained by the Jockey Club of Canada. Graded stakes races are similar to Group races in Europe but the grading is more dynamic in North America. A high grading can also be used by racetracks to promote the race in question. When determining Eclipse Award winners, racing journalists will consider the number and grade of a horse's stakes wins during the year.
