	Mikorzyńskie Lake Mikorzyńskie Lake is a lake in central Poland known as Jezioro Mikorzyńskie in Polish. It is located in Konin County in Gmina Ślesin, near the town of Licheń Stary. It is a post-glacial ribbon lake with a strongly developed shoreline. To the north it is connected to Ślesińskie Lake while to the south it adjoins Pątnowskie Lake. It is part of the 32-kilometer navigable Ślesińskie Canal. The banks of the lake, which are mostly steep, are largely surrounded by forests. 	Licheń Stary Licheń Stary is a village in the administrative district of Gmina Ślesin, within Konin County, Greater Poland Voivodeship, in central Poland. It lies approximately south-east of Ślesin, north-east of Konin, and east of the regional capital Poznań. The village's name means "old Licheń"; it is often referred to as simply Licheń. Licheń Stary is the site of Poland's largest church, the Basilica of Our Lady of Licheń, completed in 2004, which houses the icon of the Virgin Mary called ''Our Lady of Sorrows, Queen of Poland''. 	Ribbon Lake A ribbon lake is a long and very deep, finger-shaped lake, usually found in a glacial trough. As such, a ribbon lake is one of a number of glacial landscapes, including arêtes, corries, rock lips, rock basins and terminal moraines. Such a lake's formation begins when a glacier moves over an area containing alternate bands of hard and soft bedrock. The sharp-edged boulders that are picked up by the glacier and carried at the bottom of the glacier erode the softer rock more quickly by abrasion, thus creating a hollow called a rock basin. On either side of the rock basin, the more resistant rock is eroded less and these outcrops of harder rock are known as rock bars, which act as dams between which rainwater may accumulate after the retreat of the ice age, filling up the rock basin and creating a ribbon lake. 	Ślesińskie Lake Ślesińskie Lake is a lake in central Poland known as Jezioro Ślesińskie in Polish. It is located in Konin County in Gmina Ślesin, near the town of Licheń Stary. It is a post-glacial ribbon lake with a strongly developed shoreline. To the south it is connected to Mikorzyńskie Lake. It is part of the 32-kilometer navigable Ślesińskie Canal. It is one of several lakes known collectively as the heated Konin Lakes because the water temperature is raised as a result of the outflow received from two power stations. The lake is a tourist attraction and is used for water sports including water-skiing and wakeboarding. A special zone has been set up for motorboat sports and a ski slalom course is constructed each summer. Training is available and there are facilities for launching personal watercraft.
