István Mikola
Dr. István Mikola (born 8 September 1947) is a Hungarian physician and politician, who served as Minister of Health in the first cabinet of Viktor Orbán, between 2001 and 2002. He was also Member of Parliament from Fidesz Fejér County Regional List between 2006 and 2011. Mikola was nominated to the position of Deputy Prime Minister during the 2006 parliamentary election. He was appointed Hungarian Ambassador to the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), as a result he resigned as MP on 28 February 2011. He was replaced by Gábor Cserna. Mikola became Secretary of State for Security Policy and International Cooperation in the Third Orbán Government on 15 June 2014. He held the position until 17 May 2018. Mikola was Hungarian Ambassador to Australia from 2018 to 2022. He was replaced by fellow Fidesz politician Zsolt Csenger-Zalán. Nándor Mikola (1911-2006) was a Hungarian-Finnish artist. Born Nándor Josef Mikolajcsik () in Budapest, he followed in the footsteps of his father the Hungarian artist Ignác Mikolajcik by entering the Budapest University for Art and Design in 1928 to study lithography. At the same time he studied painting at the Budapest Free Art Academy under the guidance of . He graduated as a lithographer in 1932 and participated for the first time in a public exhibition at the Obuda district culture house in Budapest, where he displayed his watercolour paintings. Saint Nicholas of Mozhaysk, or Nikola of Mozhaysk (), is a Russian variation of the Saint Nikolaus traditions. According to the legend, during the 14th-century siege of Mozhaysk city by Mongols, the residents prayed to Saint Nicholas, who announced himself as a huge figure holding a sword in the right hand and the city of Mozhaisk on the palm of the left hand. After seeing such a frightful vision the Mongols retreated. The grateful citizen erected a wooden monument to Saint Nicholas as he was seen during his announcement. Mikola Abramchyk (, ) (16 August 1903 – 29 May 1970) was a Belarusian journalist and emigre politician and president of the Belarusian Democratic Republic in exile during 1943–1970. Life He attended school in Radashkovichy. In 1923, after the civil war in Russia, he emigrated to Czechoslovakia, lived in Prague, and studied agricultural sciences there. He was a member of the Association of Belarusian Student Organization. In 1930 he went to Paris, where he developed the Belarusian association of workers, ''Chaurus''. He published the magazines ''Biuleten'' and ''Recha''. He worked in the emigration for cultural and political organizations. He was a member of the Belarusian Committee of Self-leadership in Berlin. Mikola Viktaravich Statkevich (, ; born 12 August 1956 – disappeared 9 February 2023) is a Belarusian lieutenant colonel, politician, and opposition leader who was a presidential candidate at the 2010 Belarusian presidential election. Since 31 May 2020 he is held in prison by Belarusian authorities. Viasna Human Rights Centre recognized him as a political prisoner.
