Mikko Niskanen
Mikko Johannes Niskanen (31 January 1929 – 25 November 1990) was a Finnish film director, actor, producer and screenwriter. He directed more than 40 films between 1956 and 1988. His most acclaimed films include '' The Boys'' (1962), '' Under Your Skin'' (1966) ''The Song of the Blood-Red Flower'' (1971), and '' Eight Deadly Shots'' (1972). He won a record number of six Jussi Awards for direction over his career. Career Mikko Niskanen was born in Äänekoski, Central Finland. He was the third of six children, and his father worked as a timber barge pilot. Äänekoski () is a town in Finland, located in the Central Finland regions of Finland, region, about north of Jyväskylä, the region's capital city. Äänekoski has a population of , as of , and covers an area of of which , or 22%, is water. The population density is . The Unknown Soldier (1955 Film)
''The Unknown Soldier'' (, ) is a Finnish war film directed by Edvin Laine that premiered in December 1955. It is based on '' The Unknown Soldier'', a novel by Väinö Linna. The story is about the Continuation War between Finland and the Soviet Union as told from the viewpoint of ordinary Finnish soldiers. The film was and remains the most successful movie ever in Finland; about 2.8 million people, or more than half the Finnish population, saw it in theaters, and in 1956, the film won five Jussi Awards, including the award for best director. Its portrayal of Linna's characters is widely accepted as canonical. The film was voted the best Finnish movie by 1,213 respondents in an Internet poll by Finnish newspaper ''Helsingin Sanomat'' in 2007. The Malmi Cemetery (; ) is a large cemetery located at the corner between Ring I and the Lahti Highway ( E75) in the Malmi district in Helsinki, Finland Finland, officially the Republic of Finland, is a Nordic country in Northern Europe. Jörn Donner
Jörn Johan Donner (5 February 1933 – 30 January 2020) was a cinema of Finland, Finnish writer, film director, actor, film producer, producer, politician and founder of Finnish Film Archive. He produced Ingmar Bergman's film ''Fanny and Alexander'', which won four Academy Awards in 1984. Donner also served in the Finnish parliament and the European Parliament, making significant contributions to both cinema and politics. Biography Born into the Swedish-speaking population of Finland, Finland-Swedish Donner family of German descent, Jörn Donner was the son of the linguist Kai Donner and the grandson of linguist and politician Otto Donner.
