Mikhail Trufanov
Mikhail Pavlovich Trufanov (; November 22, 1921 – April 24, 1988) was a Soviet Russian painter and Honored Artist of the RSFSR, Honored Artist of the Russian Federation. He lived and worked in Leningrad and is regarded as one of the brightest representatives of the Leningrad School of Painting, Leningrad school of painting, most famous for his portrait paintings. Biography Mikhail Pavlovich Trufanov was born November 22, 1921, in village of Rakityansky District, Nyzhnie Peny, Kursk Governorate, Russian Soviet Federative Socialist Republic, Soviet Russia (now Rakityansky District, Belgorod Oblast) in a working-class family. Soon the family moved to industrial city Makeevka located in eastern Ukraine within the Donetsk Oblast, Donetsk Province, 25 km (16 mi) from the Donetsk city. Alexander Dmitrievich Zaytsev () (June 3, 1903, Blagoveshchensk, Russian Empire – May 12, 1982, Leningrad) was a Russian and Soviet painter and art educator, who lived and worked in Leningrad. He was a member of the Leningrad Union of Artists, and professor of painting of the Repin Institute of Arts, who played an important role in the formation of the Leningrad school of painting. Biography Alexander Dmitrievich Zaytsev was born on June 3, 1903, in Blagoveshchensk city on Amur River. In 1920-1924 he studied in Blagoveshchensk School of Industrial Art. In 1924 he comes to Leningrad and enters the VHUTEIN, where he studied with Osip Braz and Vasily Savinsky. The State Tretyakov Gallery (; abbreviated ГТГ, ''GTG'') is an art gallery in Moscow, Russia, which is considered the foremost depository of Russian fine art in the world. The gallery's history starts in 1856 when the Muscovite merchant Pavel Mikhailovich Tretyakov acquired works by Russian artists of his day with the aim of creating a Collection (museum), collection, which might later grow into a museum of national art. The State Russian Museum (), formerly known as the Russian Museum of His Imperial Majesty Alexander III (), on Arts Square in Saint Petersburg, is the world's largest depository of Russian fine art. It is also one of the largest art museums in the world with a total area over 30 hectares. In 2022 it attracted 2,651,688 visitors, ranking twelfth on list of most-visited art museums in the world. Creation The museum was established on April 13, 1896, upon enthronement of the emperor Nicholas II to commemorate his father, Alexander III.
