Mike Taylor (basketball Coach)
Michael Richard Taylor (born August 29, 1972) is an American basketball coach. He currently serves as head coach and General Manager of the Winnipeg Sea Bears of the Canadian Elite Basketball League (CEBL). Previously, he was head coach of the Poland men's national basketball team, Poland national team, which he led to the Round of 16 at the 2015 EuroBasket and the quarter-finals of the 2019 FIBA Basketball World Cup, 2019 FIBA World Cup. Before he coached Poland, he led several professional teams in the United States and Germany. Coaching career Hamburg Towers On 23 May 2018, Taylor signed a two-year contract with Hamburg Towers of the German second tier ProA. 2023 CEBL Season
The 2023 CEBL season was the fifth season of the Canadian Elite Basketball League (CEBL). It began on May 24, 2023, and the regular season ended on July 30, 2023. It was the inaugural season for the Calgary Surge and the Winnipeg Sea Bears. The Calgary Surge relocated from Guelph while Winnipeg was added as an expansion franchise. This year was the first season where the league was divided in two conferences. The top four teams in each conference qualified for the playoffs; had the Vancouver Bandits finished in fifth place in the Western Conference, the fourth-place team would have been eliminated instead; as hosts, the Bandits automatically qualify for the semi-finals as a ''de facto'' first-place team, along with the first-place team from the Eastern Conference. The 2019 FIBA Basketball World Cup was the 18th tournament of the FIBA Basketball World Cup for men's national basketball teams, held from 31 August to 15 September 2019. EuroBasket 2015 was the 39th edition of the EuroBasket championship that was organized by FIBA Europe. It was co-hosted by Croatia, France, Germany, and Latvia, making it the first EuroBasket held in more than one country. It started on 5 September and ended on 20 September 2015. Canadian Elite Basketball League
The Canadian Elite Basketball League (CEBL; ) is the premier men's professional basketball league in Canada, as recognized by Canada Basketball. The CEBL was founded in 2017 and began play in 2019 with six teams all owned and operated by ownership group Canadian Basketball Ventures.
