Mike Swaim
Mike Swaim (born June 7, 1952) is an American former professional stock car racing driver who has competed in the NASCAR Xfinity Series, NASCAR Busch Series and the ISCARS Dash Touring Series, NASCAR Goody's Dash Series. He is a former champion of the Dash Series, having won the championship in 1984 and 1985. He is the father of former racing driver Mike Swaim Jr., who also competed in NASCAR. Stock car races in the now-NASCAR Xfinity Series were held at Lucas Oil Raceway at Indianapolis in Clermont, Indiana, between 1982 and 2011. The race was sponsored by Kroger during its entire existence in the second-tier series calendar, and was thus named Kroger 200. It originally debuted as a summer night race, and was the only major NASCAR event in the state of Indiana. In previous years, USAC stock car races were held at the facility, although the two events were not associated. In 1994, the Kroger 200 was moved to the night before the Winston Cup Series' Brickyard 400 at the nearby Indianapolis Motor Speedway. South Boston Speedway, or "SoBo", is a Short track motor racing, short track located just outside South Boston, Virginia. SoBo is located approximately east of another area familiar to most NASCAR fans, Martinsville Speedway, Martinsville. It is owned by Mattco, Inc., the Mattioli family trust that owns Pocono Raceway, with general manager Brandon Brown operating the track, replacing Cathy Rice who retired in 2021 after serving in that role for 21 years and Chase Brashears who was in the role for two years. The BetMGM 300 is an annual 300-mile (482.803 km) NASCAR Xfinity Series race held at the Charlotte Motor Speedway in Concord, North Carolina during Memorial Day weekend as a support race for the Coca-Cola 600. Dixie Cup 200
Stock car racing events in the NASCAR Xfinity Series has been held at Darlington Raceway in Darlington, South Carolina since the series' inaugural season in 1982. Initially only one race was held, but starting in 1984 the track hosted two races per year until 2004 when the track lost its fall weekend date as a result of the realignments caused by the Ferko lawsuit. A realignment in 2015 moved the spring race to the pre-Ferko fall slot. The emergency schedule realignment for 2020 resulted in Darlington regaining its second Xfinity date, which became permanent starting from 2021. The track is scheduled to downscale to just one race in 2025.
