Mike Rose (born July 23, 1992) is a professional Canadian football defensive lineman for the Calgary Stampeders of the Canadian Football League (CFL). He played college football for NC State Wolfpack from 2011 to 2015. College career Freshman and sophomore years In 2012, after playing at Hillcrest High School and redshirting his first year, Rose played in a few of games racking up 5 solo tackles, 2 assisted tackles, and 1 tackle for loss. But Rose made a name for himself when he made a key play by blocking a punt against Florida State helping the Wolfpack win in an upset against the Seminoles. As a Sophomore In 2013, he played in 7 games finishing the year with 9 solo tackles, 9 assisted tackles, 3.5 tackles for loss, 2 sacks, 2 pass deflections, and 2 fumble recoveries. In gridiron football, a lineman is a player who specializes in play at the line of scrimmage. The linemen of the team currently in possession of the ball are the offensive line, while linemen on the opposing team are the defensive line. A number of NFL rules specifically address restrictions and requirements for the offensive line, whose job is to help protect the quarterback from getting sacked for a loss, or worse, fumbling. The defensive line is covered by the same rules that apply to all defensive players. The 2016 NFL Draft was the 81st annual meeting of National Football League (NFL) franchises to select newly eligible American football players. As in 2015, the draft took place at the Auditorium Theatre and Grant Park in Chicago. The draft began on Thursday, April 28 with the first round, and ended on Saturday, April 30. 2019 Calgary Stampeders Season
The 2019 Calgary Stampeders season was the 62nd season for the team in the Canadian Football League and their 85th overall. The Stampeders finished with a 12–6 record and hosted the West Semi-Final game in a year where they were also hosting the 107th Grey Cup. Having lost to the Blue Bombers team in the aforementioned playoff game, however, the Stampeders failed to repeat as Grey Cup champions in 2019, marking the first time since 2011 where the Stampeders failed to reach the West Division Final and only the second time since their 2008 Championship-Winning Season. The 2018 Calgary Stampeders season was the 61st season for the team in the Canadian Football League and their 84th overall. The Winnipeg Blue Bombers are a professional Canadian football team based in Winnipeg, Manitoba.
