Mike Montgomery (basketball)
Michael John Montgomery (born February 27, 1947) is a retired American basketball coach. He is best known for his 18-year tenure at Stanford Cardinal men's basketball, Stanford (1986–2004), where he led the program to 12 NCAA Division I men's basketball tournament, NCAA Tournaments, including a Final Four appearance in 1998 NCAA Division I men's basketball tournament, 1998. Montgomery previously served as head coach at the Montana Grizzlies basketball, Montana (1978–1986). Following his time at Stanford, he coached the Golden State Warriors of the National Basketball Association (NBA) for two seasons (2004–2006) before ending his career at the California Golden Bears men's basketball, University of California (2008–2014). He announced his retirement from coaching following the 2013–14 season. Michael Lewis Montgomery, II (born August 18, 1983) is an American former professional football defensive end. He was selected by the Green Bay Packers in the sixth round of the 2005 NFL draft. He played college football at Texas A&M. Montgomery was also a member of the Minnesota Vikings, Las Vegas Locomotives and Montreal Alouettes. College career Montgomery was born in Carthage, Texas and attended Center High School in Center, Texas. He played college football at Navarro Junior College and Texas A&M. He started his career at Navarro where he played for two years recording 131 tackles and six sacks. James Michael Montgomery (born July 10, 1949) is an American former professional American football, football player who was a running back in the National Football League (NFL) for the San Diego Chargers, Dallas Cowboys and Houston Oilers. He played college football for the Kansas State Wildcats football, Kansas State Wildcats. Early years Montgomery attended Dodge City High School, where he played as a quarterback, before being switched to running back as senior. He contributed to the team's 1966 undefeated season, although it resulted only in a league championship title, because at the time there was no playoff system or state championship game. Michael Paul Montgomery (born July 1, 1989) is an American professional baseball pitcher who is a free agent. He has previously played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Seattle Mariners, Chicago Cubs, and Kansas City Royals, and in the KBO League for the Samsung Lions. He was drafted by the Kansas City Royals in the first round of the 2008 MLB draft and made his Major League Baseball (MLB) debut with the Seattle Mariners in 2015. The Mariners traded him to the Chicago Cubs in 2016. Montgomery recorded the final out in Game 7 of the 2016 World Series, earning the save and sealing the Cubs' first World Series title since 1908.
