Mike McGinnity
Michael McGinnity (11 September 1941 – 9 January 2016) was chairman and life president of Coventry City Football Club. He held the position of life president at the club following resigning as chairman in 2006 due to ongoing health problems. He was succeeded by Geoffrey Robinson MP and later Ray Ranson, the former footballer turned entrepreneur. Coventry City
Coventry City Football Club is an English professional football club based in Coventry, West Midlands. The club plays in the EFL Championship, the second tier of English football. The club is nicknamed The Sky Blues after the sky blue colours that have featured prominently throughout their history, which they have worn continuously since 1962. Geoffrey Robinson (born 25 May 1938) is a British Labour Party politician who was the Member of Parliament (MP) for Coventry North West for 43 years, from 1976 to 2019. He was Paymaster General from May 1997 to December 1998, resigning after the bankruptcy of his company Trans Tec. It was revealed that he had lent his government colleague Peter Mandelson £373,000 to buy a house. From 1996 to 2008 he was the owner of the ''New Statesman'', a centre-left weekly political magazine. Ray Ranson
Raymond Ranson (born 12 June 1960) is an English sports entrepreneur and former professional footballer. Playing career Born in St Helens, Merseyside, Ranson's professional football career began in 1976 when he was signed as an apprentice by Manchester City. Typically playing as a defender at right full-back, he made his senior debut in a 0–0 draw against Nottingham Forest on 23 December 1978.
