Maurice Everett Hall Jr., known professionally as Michael Hall (September 7, 1926 – May 24, 2020) was an American actor who later was an art dealer and collector. As an actor, he is best known for his role as Rob Stephenson, the son of Fredric March's character in the film ''The Best Years of Our Lives.'' Personal life Hall was born Maurice Everett Hall Jr. on September 7, 1926, in Wichita, Kansas the only child of Maurice Everette Hall, Sr. (1897–1959) and Vera Elizabeth Bray Hall (1901–1994). His father worked in the petroleum industry and the family moved between California and Missouri during his childhood. In 1947, Maurice Sr. was reported to be a Major (rank), Major in the Army Air Forces based in Denver. Hall won the declamation contest at Denver High School in 1943, and in 1947 the ''Boston Globe'' reported that he was attending the University of California at Los Angeles. Mike Hall (powerlifter)
Michael Hall (born October 3, 1956) is a retired American powerlifter, who is perhaps best known for being a pioneer of the drug-free movement in powerlifting. Hall is considered the first African American Super Heavyweight powerlifter to win a World Powerlifting Championship. Hall succeeded in setting numerous American Drug Free Powerlifting Association (ADFPA), American and National records in all three lifts, as well as the total. In addition, he won both the ADFPA and United States Powerlifting Federation (USPF) nationals several times during the same year. He was also the first superheavyweight lifter to win both the IPF and the WDFPF World Championships. At the 1987 IPF World Championships, Hall officially became the first American lifter to squat 900 lb (409 kg) and break the 2200 lb (1000 kg) total under drug tested conditions. Michael Horus Hall (born June 5, 1984) is an American-Irish former professional basketball player and current coach. College career He attended Alan B. Shepard High School in Palos Heights, Illinois. Hall, a four-year starter at George Washington University from 2002 through 2006 was a tri-captain his senior season on a team that went 27–3. Those Colonial teams won the Atlantic 10 Conference in 2005 and made the NCAA tournament in 2005 and 2006. Hall was inducted into George Washington's Athletics Hall of Fame in 2019. Michael Richard Hall (4 June 1981 – 31 March 2017) was a British cyclist and race organiser who specialised in self-supported ultra-distance cycling races. In 2012, he won the inaugural World Cycle Race. In 2013 and 2016, he won the Tour Divide ultra-endurance mountain bike race across the Rocky Mountains in Canada and the United States. In 2014, he won the inaugural Trans Am Bike Race, a road-based event from the Pacific coast to the Atlantic coast in the United States. From 2013, he was the principal organiser of the Transcontinental Race, an event similar to the TransAm Bicycle Race, but that traverses Europe. Michael John Hall (29 May 1935 – 10 August 2019), known as 'Mike', was an English cricketer. Hall was a right-handed batsman. Early life Hall was the son of JB and Mary Hall and was born in Worksop, Nottinghamshire, with the family moving to Retford in 1949 when Hall was 14. He started his cricketing career in the First 11 for the Grammar School. His father John Hall also played first-class cricket. Cricketing career Hall made his first-class debut for Nottinghamshire against Essex in the 1958 County Championship at the Garrison A Cricket Ground, Colchester, with him making a further eight first-class appearances in that season. The following season he made eight further first-class appearances for Nottinghamshire, the last of which came against Northamptonshire in the County Championship.
