Mike Foppen
Mike Foppen (; born 29 November 1996) is a Dutch Middle-distance running, middle- and Long-distance running, long-distance runner. He finished fifth in the 5000 metres at the 2022 European Athletics Championships. Foppen represented Netherlands in the event at the Athletics at the 2020 Summer Olympics, 2020 Tokyo Olympics. At the 2024 Summer Olympics he finished 13th in the Athletics at the 2024 Summer Olympics – Men's 5000 metres finals. He is the List of Dutch records in athletics, Dutch record holder for the 5000 m and the Dutch indoor record holder for the 3000 m and 5000 m (his mark is an outright national best). He won seven national titles. Nijmegen
Nijmegen ( , ; Nijmeegs: ) is the largest city in the Dutch province of Gelderland and the ninth largest of the Netherlands as a whole. The 10,000 metres or the 10,000-metre run is a common long-distance track running event. The event is part of the athletics programme at the Olympic Games and the World Athletics Championships, and is common at championship-level events.
