Mike Cook (soccer)
Mychal "Mike" Cook is a Canadian retired soccer player who spent his career in the USISL. He is the head coach of the Central Oklahoma Bronchos women's soccer team. Player 1984–1985 Cook attended Bethany Nazarene College, playing on the men's soccer team in 1984 and 1985. In 1986, Cook joined the newly created Oklahoma City Warriors of the Southwest Indoor Soccer League. The Warriors finished third in the regular season, falling to the Lubbock Lazers in the first round of the playoffs. During the 1987–88 Southwest Indoor Soccer League, Cook finished fifth on the scoring list with twenty-seven goals. The Warriors again made the playoffs, winning the league championship over the Austin Sockadillos. Cook was the playoff MVP. Cook continued his scoring pace during the 1988–89 Southwest Indoor Soccer League season with twenty-five goals. Forwards (also known as attackers) are outfield positions in an association football team who play the furthest up the pitch and are therefore most responsible for scoring goals as well as assisting them. As with any attacking player, the role of the forward relies heavily on being able to create space for attack. The USL Championship (USLC) is a professional men's soccer league in the United States that began its inaugural season in 2011. The Oklahoma City Slickers was the name given to two different American association football, soccer clubs based in Oklahoma City. The first team competed in the second American Soccer League (1933–83), American Soccer League in 1982 and 1983, and as the Oklahoma City Stampede in the United Soccer League (1984–85), United Soccer League in 1984 and 1985. Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association
The Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association (MIAA) is a college athletic conference affiliated with the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) at the Division II level, headquartered in Kansas City, Missouri. Its fourteen member institutions, located in Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska, and Oklahoma, include twelve public and two private schools. The MIAA is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization incorporated in Missouri. Originally named the Missouri Intercollegiate Athletic Association, the conference was established in 1912 with 14 members, two of which are still current members.
