Mike Adams (footballer)
Michael Alan Adams (born 20 February 1965 in Banwell, Somerset) is an English former professional footballer. Adams began his career as an apprentice with Bristol Rovers. He played just once for their first team before leaving to join Bath City, initially on loan, in March 1984. His only appearance for ''The Pirates'' came in the final game of the 1982–83 season; a match that was a memorable one for several reasons. Rovers' previous manager, Bobby Gould, had resigned the day before, their opponents, Cardiff City, won promotion thanks to the point they earned in this 1–1 draw, it was the final professional game for former England international and FIFA World Cup winner Alan Ball, and Rovers player Aidan McCaffery required life-saving treatment from the physio after swallowing his tongue. Banwell
Banwell is a village and civil parish on the River Banwell in the North Somerset district of Somerset, England. Its population was 2,919 according to the 2011 census. History Banwell Camp, east of the village, is a univallate hillfort which has yielded flint implements from the Palaeolithic, Neolithic and Bronze Age. It was also occupied in the Iron Age. In the late 1950s it was excavated by J.W. Hunt of the Banwell Society of Archaeology. It is surrounded by a high bank and ditch. The remains of a Romano-British villa were discovered in 1968. It included a courtyard, wall and bath house close to the River Banwell. Artefacts from the site suggest it fell into disuse in the 4th century. Earthworks from farm buildings, south of Gout House Farm, occupied from the 11th to 14th centuries where archaeological remains suggest the site was first occupied in the Romano-British period. Alan Ball, Jr
Alan James Ball (12 May 1945 – 25 April 2007) was an English professional football player and manager. He was the youngest member of England's 1966 World Cup winning team and played as a midfielder for various clubs, scoring more than 180 league goals in a career spanning 22 years. His playing career also included a then national record £220,000 transfer from Everton to Arsenal at the end of 1971. After retiring as a player, he had a 15-year career as a manager which included spells in the top flight of English football with Portsmouth, Southampton, and Manchester City. Harold Jarman
Harold James Jarman (born 4 May 1939) is an English former professional footballer and first-class cricketer. He spent the majority of his lengthy footballing career with Bristol Rovers, where he is the club's 3rd-highest goalscorer of all time and was inducted into their Hall of Fame in April 2021. He also had a single season with each of Newport County and New York Cosmos, as well as representing several non-league football clubs, including Bristol St George, Chippenham United, Mangotsfield United, and Portway Bristol where he was player-manager. Bristol

Aidan McCaffery
Aidan McCaffery (born 30 August 1957) is an English former professional footballer and football club manager. As player, he made 370 appearances in the Football League, playing as a central defender for Newcastle United, Derby County, Bristol Rovers, Bristol City, Torquay United, Exeter City, Hartlepool United and Carlisle United. As manager, he spent the 1991–92 season in charge of Carlisle United. Career McCaffery was born in Jarrow. He began his career as an apprentice with Newcastle United and went on to captain the England Youth side. He turned professional in January 1974 and made his league debut against Ipswich Town in March 1975.
