Mike (miniseries)
''Mike'' is an American miniseries created by Steven Rogers. The series is an unauthorized look at the life of boxer Mike Tyson, with Trevante Rhodes as the titular role, and co-stars Russell Hornsby. Rogers reunites with numerous collaborators from the film ''I, Tonya'' (2017), including director Craig Gillespie, and executive producers Tom Ackerley, Margot Robbie, and Bryan Unkeless. It premiered on Hulu on August 25, 2022. The series received mixed reviews from critics, and was heavily criticized by Tyson for being made without his involvement nor compensation. A biographical film or biopic () is a film that dramatizes the life of a non-fictional or historically-based person or people. Such films show the life of a historical person and the central character's real name is used. ''I, Tonya'' is a 2017 American biographical film directed by Craig Gillespie and written by Steven Rogers. It follows the life and career of the American figure skater Tonya Harding and her connection with the 1994 attack on her rival Nancy Kerrigan. The film states it is based on "contradictory" and "true" interviews with Harding and her ex-husband Jeff Gillooly, suggesting they are unreliable narrators. This means the viewer must decide for themselves whether to see the film as the truth or as a version concocted by Harding herself. Mando Alvarado is an American playwright, screenwriter and actor originally from Pharr, Texas. At age nine, his father died. He grew up with two younger brothers and describes himself as a bully towards them in their younger years. He first got involved with theater in middle school, when his Drama teacher told him he would need to take a role in a production to pass the class. She is a founding member of Upright Citizen Brigade Theatre's first all-black team Astronomy Club and was co-head writer for the group's Netflix series.
