Mihály Kata (born 13 April 2002) is a Hungarian footballer who plays as a midfielder for MTK and the Hungary national team. Club career On 7 August 2019, he played his first match in the first team of MTK Budapest FC in a 3–0 victory over Budaörsi SC in the 2019–20 Nemzeti Bajnokság II season. On 13 December 2020, he scored his first goal in the first team in a 1–0 victory over Diósgyőri VTK at the Hidegkuti Nándor Stadion in the 2020–21 Nemzeti Bajnokság I season. On 5 February 2023, he scored his first goal in a 0–2 victory over Dorogi FC in the 2022–23 Nemzeti Bajnokság II season. On 30 April 2023, he scored a goal in a 1–1 draw with FC Ajka in the 2022-23 NB II season. The 2023–24 Nemzeti Bajnokság I (also known as 2023–24 OTP Bank Liga), also known as NB I, was the 125th season of top-tier football in Hungary. The NB II, currently known as the Merkantil Bank Liga for sponsorship reasons, is the second tier of Hungarian football. At the end of the 2004–05 season, the tournament format was changed from one division of 14 teams to two divisions: ''Keleti'' (Eastern) and ''Nyugati'' (Western), each with 16 teams, though now it's just one league table with 16 teams as of the 2024–25 season. The champion and the runner-up will ascend to the first division while the two lowest teams in NB II are relegated to NB III. The Hungarian Cup (, ), officially known as MOL Magyar Kupa for sponsorship reasons, is the Hungarian cup competition for football clubs. It was started by the Hungarian Football Association'','' in 1909, eight years after the commencement of the Hungarian League. Besides all of the professional clubs of Hungary numerous amateur sides take part every year. These have to qualify through local cup competitions. The Nemzeti Bajnokság (, ), also known as NB I or Fizz Liga after its title sponsor, OTP Bank's webshop subsidiary, is a professional association football league in Hungary and the highest level of the Hungarian football league system. Twelve teams compete in the league, playing each other three times, once at home, once away, and the third match is played at the stadium that the last match was not played at. At the end of the season, the top team enters the qualification rounds for the UEFA Champions League, while the runner-up and the third place, together with the winner of the Magyar Kupa enter the UEFA Conference League qualification rounds. Puskás Aréna () is a Soccer-specific stadium, football stadium in the Zugló, 14th district (Zugló) of Budapest, Hungary. The UEFA Euro 2024 qualifying tournament was a football competition that was played from March 2023 to March 2024 to determine the 23 UEFA member men's national teams that would join the automatically qualified host team Germany in the UEFA Euro 2024 final tournament. The competition was linked with the 2022–23 UEFA Nations League, which gave countries a secondary route to qualify for the final tournament.
