Miharati
Miharati is a location in Kipipiri Division, Kipipiri Constituency, Nyandarua County, Central Province, Kenya. It is situated just below Mount Kipipiri Mount Kipipiri is an isolated volcano in the Wanjohi Valley, on the Kinangop Plateau near to the Aberdare Range. It is about northeast of Lake Naivasha, which is visible from the summit. Wildlife includes Colobus and Sykes monkeys, elephants and .... Miharati borders Wanjohi and Kiambogo to the east, Lereshwa to the west, Githioro to the south and Malewa to the north. It is about 105 km north of Nairobi City and about 538 km from Mombasa. The area between the road to Miharati police station, the road entering town and where the market starts had a big pyrethrum drying factory. Outside there were very many pyrethrum flower holding troughs before taken in factory for drying. Kipipiri Constituency
Kipipiri Constituency is an electoral constituency in Kenya. It is one of five constituencies in Nyandarua County. The constituency has four wards, all of which elect MCAs for the Nyandarua County. The constituency was established for the 1988 elections. The constituency borders Olkalou, Kinangop and Gilgil Constituencies. The inhabitants of the constituency are largely of Kikuyu extraction. Its biggest town is Miharati, which acts as the subcounty headquarters. The constituency is largely poor, with a poverty index of below the national average. The main activity for the residents is farming, with cabbages, Irish potatoes, milk, carrots, and onions being the main products. It has poor roads, and receives rainfall for a large part of the year, save for the lower areas bordering Gilgil that are dry. Central Province (Kenya)
The Central Province ( sw, Kati, ) was a region in central Kenya until 2013, when Kenya's provinces were replaced by a system of counties. It covered an area of and was located to the north of Nairobi and west of Mount Kenya (''see maps''). The province had 4,383,743 inhabitants according to the 2009 census. The provincial headquarters was Nyeri. Central Province was the ancestral home of the Gikuyu people. Climate The climate of Central Province is generally cooler than that of the rest of Kenya, due to the region's higher altitude. Nyandarua County
Nyandarua County is a County in the former Central Province of Kenya. Its capital and largest town is Ol Kalou. Formerly the capital was Nyahururu, which is now part of the Laikipia County. Nyandarua County has population of 596,268 and an area of 3,304 km2. The county is located on the northwestern part of the old Central Province, and contains the Aberdare Ranges. The county was split into two in 2007: Nyandarua North District and Nyandarua South District. However, with the promulgation in 2010 of new constitution, these have been re-organised as sub counties of Nyandarua County . Mount Kipipiri
Mount Kipipiri is an isolated volcano in the Wanjohi Valley, on the Kinangop Plateau near to the Aberdare Range. It is about northeast of Lake Naivasha, which is visible from the summit. Wildlife includes Colobus and Sykes monkeys, elephants and buffalo and abundant birdlife. The name of the mountain means "butterfly" in the Gikuyu language, a reference to its profile from a distance. The Mount Kipipiri Forest Reserve is part of the Aberdare National Park. In 2005 it was estimated that the forest reserve was home to about 13 elephants.
