Marian Lupu
Marian Lupu (; born 20 June 1966) is a Moldovan economist and politician who was the President of the Parliament of Moldova between 2010 and 2013. From this position he served as Acting President of Moldova from 2010 until 2012. Personal life Marian Lupu was born on 20 June 1966 in Bălţi. When Marian was six, the family moved to Chişinău. His father, Ilie Lupu (b. 1938), was a mathematics professor at the Moldova State University. His mother taught French language at the Nicolae Testemiţanu State University of Medicine and Pharmacy. He had been a member of Komsomol from 1980 until 1988 and a Member of Communist Party of the Soviet Union from 1988 to 1991. Until 1983, Lupu studied at "Gheorghe Asachi" High School of Chişinău. Ion Ciubuc (; 29 May 1943 – 29 January 2018) was a Moldovan economist and politician who served as the 3rd Prime Minister of Moldova from January 1997 to February 1999. Biography Ion Ciubuc was born on 29 May 1943 in the village of Hădărăuți, at the time in Hotin County, today in Ocnița District. He graduated from the Agricultural Institute in Odessa in 1970, obtaining the qualification of a specialist in the agrarian economy. He subsequently obtained his Ph.D. in economics. He initially worked as an economist at the "1 Mai" kolkhoz in the village of Hădărăuți (1960–1963), after which he satisfied his compulsory military service in the Soviet Army (1963–1966).
