Miguel Yoldi
Miguel Yoldi Beroiz (14 April 1903 – 13 August 1961) was a Navarrese anarcho-syndicalist. Biography On 14 April 1903, Miguel Yoldi Beroiz was born in Pamplona. He was educated at the House of Mercy in Pamplona and later worked as a Turning, turner, sailor and teacher. In 1920, at the age of 17, he joined the Confederación Nacional del Trabajo, National Confederation of Labor (CNT). During the Dictatorship of Primo de Rivera he went into exile in France, from where he returned proclamation of the Second Spanish Republic, when the Second Republic was proclaimed (1931). He then opened a bookshop with the aim of disseminating anarchist literature, a task to which he devoted himself until in 1934 he was elected General Secretary of the Confederación Nacional del Trabajo, General Secretary of the CNT, replacing Joaquín Ascaso Budria and moved to Barcelona. The General Secretary or Secretary General of the Confederación Nacional del Trabajo is the head of the Confederación Nacional del Trabajo (National Confederation of Labour; CNT), a Spanish confederation of anarcho-syndicalist trade unions. The position is elected by a congress or plenary session of the confederation. The position's powers are limited to technical and administrative affairs. Since the confederation does not have fixed headquarters, the elected General Secretary's local federation becomes the confederation's central operations and a local plenary session of the local federation chooses the secretariats for other leadership positions. Together they are known as the ''Secretariado Permanente del Comité Confederal'' (Permanent Secretariat of the Confederal Committee, or SPCC).
