Miguel Gustavo
Miguel Gustavo (24 March 1922 – 22 January 1972) was a Brazilian journalist, and songwriter. He made important contributions the Brazilian journalism, literature, and music. Biography Born in Rio de Janeiro in 1922, he started as a disc jockey for Radio Vera Cruz in 1941 and stood out as a jingle composer, in addition to having also made hits as a composer of sambas and marches. Later came the cycle of sambas de breque with Moreira da Silva. He continued in 1950 composing jingles, including Casas da Banha, which caused controversy for using an excerpt from the melody "Jesus, the joy of men" by J. S. Bach. In 1962 he composed, with Jorge Veiga, the piece Brigitte Bardot. For the 1970 World Cup in Mexico he composed the anthem '' Pra Frente Brasil'' and the melody became a symbol of the Selection. The 1970 FIFA World Cup was the ninth edition of the FIFA World Cup, the quadrennial international football championship for men's senior national teams. Held from 31 May to 21 June in Mexico, it was the first World Cup tournament held outside Europe and South America, and it was also the first held in North America. Pra Frente Brasil is a song composed by Miguel Gustavo to inspire the Brazilian team in the 1970 FIFA World Cup. It was sung by the country and became the anthem of this edition, for Brazilians. Miriam Batucada
Miriam Ângela Lavecchia, better known as Miriam Batucada (28 December 1946 – 2 July 1994), was a Brazilian singer, composer, and TV presenter. Beginning her career as a performer on various TV shows, she was given her nickname from TV host Cidinha Campos for her batucada abilities. She transitioned into a musical career, going as Miriam Batucada, releasing several albums to modest sales. She is best known for her participation for her participation on the album Sociedade da Grã-Ordem Kavernista Apresenta Sessão das 10, drawing from various influences, released on 21 July 1971 with the record label Discos CBS, together with Edy Star, Sérgio Sampaio, and Raul Seixas. The São Francisco Xavier Cemetery is the largest of the many necropolises that make up the group popularly known as the Caju Cemetery, located in the Caju neighborhood of Rio de Janeiro's North Zone.
