Miguel-Ángel Cárdenas (October 3, 1934 – June 2, 2015), also known as Michel Cardena, was a Colombian-Dutch, New Realism and Pop Art painter and a pioneer of video art in the Netherlands. His works cover a variety of artistic media, including painting, drawing, video, photography, object assemblages and digital art. Biography Miguel-Ángel Cárdenas was born in Espinal, Colombia in 1934. Between 1953 and 1957 he studied architecture at the National University of Colombia in Bogota, Colombia, and visual art at the Escuela de Bellas Artes Bogota. Espinal is a Colombian municipality and town located in the Department of Tolima, 146 km southwest from Bogotá. Peter Struycken
Peter Struycken (born 5 January 1939) is a Dutch artist. The painter, computer artist and sculptor won the 2012 Heineken Prize for Arts from the Royal Netherlands Academy of Arts and Sciences. He was made a Knight in the Order of Orange-Nassau in 1984. Struycken went to the Haagsche Lyceum and studied at the Royal Academy of Art in The Hague from 1957 to 1962. In 1964, he became a teacher at Hogeschool voor de kunsten Arnhem. He is the brother of actor Carel Struycken. Jan Dibbets
Jan Dibbets (born 9 May 1941, in Weert) is an Amsterdam-based Dutch conceptual artist. His work is influenced by mathematics and works mainly with photography. Life and career In the late 1950s and early 1960s, he started as an art teacher at the Tilburg Academy and studied painting with Jan Gregoor in Eindhoven. He had his first solo exhibition in 1965 at Amsterdam's Galerie 845 and subsequently abandoned painting in 1967. At that same period, he visited London and met Richard Long and other artists working with land art. He returned to Amsterdam, incorporated land-art based theories into his work and began to use photography as a "dialogue between nature and cool geometrical design by rotating the camera on its axis" with his "perspective corrections". Marinus Boezem
Marinus Lambertus van den Boezem (born 28 January 1934) is a Dutch artist. He is known for his radical view of art and his works in public space. Together with Wim T. Schippers, Ger van Elk and Jan Dibbets, Boezem is seen as one of the main representatives of conceptual art and arte povera in the Netherlands in the late 1960s. Biography Boezem was born in Leerdam. In 1934, he entered the Vrije Academie Artibus in Utrecht, but he left after a year to continue his studies at the Vrije Academie in The Hague. Drakensteyn Castle (Dutch: ''Drakensteyn'', sometimes ''Drakesteijn'' or ''Drakestein'') is a small castle at 8 Slotlaan in the hamlet of Lage Vuursche, in the municipality of Baarn, Netherlands.
