Francisco Tobar García
Francisco Tobar Garcia (Quito, November 3, 1928 – Quito, February 1, 1997) was an Ecuadorian poet, playwright, short story writer, essayist, journalist, literary critic, diplomat and university professor. He held a Ph.D. in Literature from the Pontifical Catholic University of Ecuador. He was a visiting professor at the National University of La Plata in Argentina, the University of Paris, Sorbonne in Paris, and the Complutense University of Madrid. He functioned as a diplomat for the Ecuadorian government in Spain, Haiti and Venezuela. He was also the director of the publishing division of the House of Ecuadorian Culture. Pablo Neruda
Pablo Neruda ( ; ; born Ricardo Eliécer Neftalí Reyes Basoalto; 12 July 190423 September 1973) was a Chilean poet-diplomat and politician who won the 1971 Nobel Prize in Literature. Neruda became known as a poet when he was 13 years old and wrote in a variety of styles, including surrealist poems, historical epics, political manifestos, a prose autobiography, and passionate love poems such as the ones in his collection '' Twenty Love Poems and a Song of Despair'' (1924). Neruda occupied many diplomatic positions in various countries during his lifetime and served a term as a senator for the Chilean Communist Party. When President Gabriel González Videla outlawed communism in Chile in 1948, a warrant was issued for Neruda's arrest. Friends hid him for months, and in 1949, he escaped through a mountain pass near Maihue Lake into Argentina; he would not return to Chile for more than three years. León Klimovsky
León Klimovsky Dulfán (16 October 1906 – 8 April 1996) was an Argentine film director, screenwriter and producer notable for his work during the Golden Age of Argentine cinema, classical era of Argentine cinema. He was known mainly for his work in Spanish cinema during the 1960s and '70s. Early life Klimovsky was born in Buenos Aires, to History of the Jews in Ukraine, Jewish emigrant parents from the Russian Empire. His brother, Gregorio Klimovsky, was a noted mathematician and philosopher. Klimovsky originally trained to be a dentist, but his real passion was always the cinema. He pioneered the Argentine cultural movement known as film society, cineclub and financed the first Argentine movie theater to show art movies. He also founded Argentina's first film society, film club in 1929. Allison (band)
Allison is a Mexican rock band from Mexico City, Mexico, that formed in 2002. They were nominated for the Latin Grammy Awards in 2013. History Allison was started by Erik "Erik" Canales and Manuel "Manolin" Avila in 2002. They had known each other in high school for reasons other than music and had individual musical projects before founding Allison, but none were successful. They decided to create Allison along with two former members of a band Canales was in. Canales said he suggested the name after reading a poem about the true meaning of love: "Allison is the girl you're falling in love with and she with you, but still you don't know her." The band began to perform in their own town and quickly began to gain fans. As their popularity grew, the band travelled more, which led band members to drop out of high school to focus on their music career.
