Mieczysław Bagiński
Mieczysław Bagiński (born August 15, 1944 in Koniecki Małe) – Polish politician, local official, former Voivode of Łomża Voivodeship. Biography From 1992 to 1994 he was the vice-voivode of Łomża Voivodeship, then he obtainend the voivode office (1994-1997). He was ZSL activist. He belongs to the Polish People's Party (PSL). From the list of this party in 1998 he became a councilor of the Podlaskie Regional Assembly. He successfully applied for re-election in 2002, 2006 and early elections in 2007, after which he assumed the seat of chairman of the regional council. In 2010 and in 2014, he won a mandate for next terms. In 2018 he did not apply for re-election. The government of Poland takes the form of a unitary semi-presidential representative democratic republic, whereby the president is the head of state and the prime minister is the head of government. The Polish People's Party (, PSL) is a conservative political party in Poland. It is currently led by Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz. Its history traces back to 1895, when it held the name People's Party, although its name was changed to the present one in 1903. During the Second Polish Republic, the Polish People's Party was represented by a number of parties that held its name. They were all supportive of agrarian policies, although they spanned from the left-wing to the centre-right on the political spectrum. It was reformed to the People's Party shortly after the Sanacja regime took power. The United People's Party (, ZSL) was an agrarian socialist political party in the People's Republic of Poland. It was formed on 27 November 1949 from the merger of the pro-Communist Stronnictwo Ludowe party with remnants of the independent Polish People's Party of Stanisław Mikołajczyk. Podlaskie Regional Assembly
The Podlaskie Voivodeship Sejmik () is the regional legislature of the Voivodeship of Podlaskie. It is a unicameral parliamentary body consisting of thirty councillors elected to a five-year term. The current chairperson of the assembly is Cezary Cieślukowski. The assembly elects the executive board that acts as the collective executive for the regional government, headed by the province's marshal. The current Executive Board of Podlaskie is held by the coalition government of Civic Coalition and Third Way and supported by two PiS members with Łukasz Prokorym, KO presiding as marshal. A by-elections in Senate of Poland, Senate District 59 was held in Poland on 6 March 2016. The election was required due to the President of Poland, President Andrzej Duda appointing incumbent Senator Bohdan Paszkowski as the Voivode of Podlaskie Voivodeship, Podlaskie. The result was a victory for Anna Maria Anders of the Law and Justice (Poland), Law and Justice party. Voter turnout was just 17.11%.
