Midøya
Midøya (sometimes nicknamed ''Mia'') is an island in Molde Municipality in Møre og Romsdal county, Norway. The island sits at the entrance to the Romsdalsfjorden between the islands of Dryna and Otrøya. The Midsund Bridge connects this island to the village of Midsund on the neighboring island of Otrøya. History Prior to 1902, the island was divided between Skodje Municipality (southwestern half) and Aukra Municipality (northeastern half). In 1902, the part of the island belonging to Skodje Municipality was transferred to the new Vatne Municipality. In 1924, the part belonging to Aukra Municipality became part of the new Sør-Aukra Municipality. In 1965, the whole island became part of the new Midsund Municipality. The area is now part of Molde Municipality in the traditional district of Romsdal. The administrative centre was the village of Midsund on Otrøya island. Otrøya
Otrøya is the largest island in Molde Municipality in Møre og Romsdal county, Norway. The island sits at the entrance to Romsdalsfjord, west of the island of Midøya and east of the mainland Romsdal peninsula. The highest point on the island is the mountain ''Oppstadhornet'' at above sea level. The main settlement is the village of Midsund on the west end of the island. Other settlements include Uglvik and Raknes on the north side of the island and Nord-Heggdal on the southeast side of the island. Dryna
Dryna is an island in Molde Municipality in Møre og Romsdal county, Norway. It is the westernmost of the main islands in the municipality. Romsdalsfjorden
or is the ninth-longest fjord in Norway. The long fjord is located in the Romsdal district of Møre og Romsdal county. It flows through the municipalities of Molde, Haram, Vestnes, and Rauma. The deepest point in the fjord is just southwest of the town of Molde, where it is deep. The fjord is a threshold-fjord, as it is separated from the ocean by a deep shallower areas at the mouth. Several islands and skerries also shelter the wide central fjord from the Atlantic.
